All 12 Elden Ring Sacred Tear Locations Guide

Sacred Tears are an upgrade material that increases the potency of your Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears up to the maximum +12 upgrade. There are 12 Elden Ring Sacred Tear Locations total throughout the Lands Between. You can typically find them inside ruined churches, at the base of a Marika statue or altar. Learn the exact Sacred Tear locations in this Elden Ring Walkthrough below.

Limgrave Sacred Tear Locations

Limgrave itself has just one Sacred Tear. Start with this one. But there are three Tears at the Weeping Peninsula that you can grab too.

Third Church of Marika Sacred Tear

This is typically the first Sacred Tear most players encounter. It sits along the road in eastern Limgrave behind a shallow pond. Travel northeast from the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace, or head north from Fort Haight. The church contains a Site of Grace. The Tear sits in a bowl at the foot of the large statue. Orange flowers surround it. A Crystal Tear also sits across from the entrance. Some players mistake that for the Sacred Tear, but the actual upgrade is a separate pickup north of the Site of Grace.

Weeping Peninsula Sacred Tear Locations

These three are relatively close to each other. So if you are hunting one of them, get the next one too.

Callu Baptismal Church Sacred Tear

Find this near the Ailing Village in the southern or eastern Weeping Peninsula. Head south from the Ailing Village Outskirts Site of Grace. You have to fight the crazy villagers and crazy rats guarding the area. Rest at the nearby Site of Grace before you approach. The church is easy to clear without a fight. Players frequently miss it because it is tucked away in a forested, out-of-the-way part of the map.

Church of Pilgrimage Sacred Tear

This rests at the northern tip of the Weeping Peninsula and overlooks the sea. Follow the main road south across the Bridge of Sacrifice and continue uphill. Skeletal enemies guard the path, and they reanimate after you kill them. Travel via mount and head straight for the Site of Grace inside rather than fight them. The Tear rests in front of the statue.

  • Church of Pilgrimage Sacred Tear Location

Fourth Church of Marika Sacred Tear

This church is located west of Castle Morne in the northwestern part of the Weeping Peninsula. It sits near a Weeping Evergaol and a field where a giant walking mausoleum roams. Two headless soldiers guard the church. Sneak around them to reach the interior without triggering a fight. The Sacred Tear sits at the foot of the statue near the Site of Grace.

Liurnia Sacred Tear Locations

You need to defeat Godrick the Grafted and the Mausoleum Knight to get two of these. And the last one is not a piece of cake either. But you can do it. You made it this far.

Church of Irith Sacred Tear

You find this roofless ruin shortly after you defeat Godrick the Grafted. It overlooks Liurnia. Head southwest or northwest from the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace. The Sacred Tear sits near the large statue. Speak to the crestfallen sorcerer inside for a clue about passage to the Raya Lucaria Academy.

  • Church of Irith Liurnia Sacred Tear Location

Bellum Church Sacred Tear

This church sits in northeastern Liurnia near the Grand Lift of Dectus. Head north from the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace. Defeat the Mausoleum Knight found here for a chance at his armor and weapon before you collect the Sacred Tear at the statue base.

  • Elden Ring Bellum Church Sacred Tear Location

Church of Inhibition Sacred Tear

This is considered one of the more difficult Tears to reach. It sits atop a cliff in the far northeastern Frenzied Flame Village. Traverse the village to reach it. The area inflicts the Madness status effect, so move quickly. An NPC invader named Vyke appears near the church and uses attacks that induce Madness. The Tear rests at the base of the statue inside, next to a Site of Grace.

  • Church of Inhibition Sacred Tear Location

Caelid Sacred Tears

There is only one Sacred Tear in this region, and it’s painful to reach. Do it if you like a challenge or if you want your set to be completed.

Church of the Plague Sacred Tear

This is the only Sacred Tear in Caelid. Find it in the cliffs of southern Caelid east of the poisonous swamp. You can reach it through a northern route or break the seal in Sellia, Town of Sorcery. I recommend the northern route to completely avoid the seal. To break the seal, light three braziers scattered across the Sellia rooftops to unlock the town gate barriers.

  • Church of the Plague Sacred Tear Location

Altus Plateau Sacred Tears

This was my favorite Tear to get, partly because Altus Plateau is one of my favorite regions and the journey through the landscape is worth the trouble.

Stormcaller Church Sacred Tear

This rests between cliffs in the northern Altus Plateau. Look northwest of the Rampartside Path Site of Grace near coffins along a road struck by lightning. Tough enemies roam the surrounding area, but the church itself is safe. Enjoy a moment of respite and grab the Tear near the statue inside.

  • Stormcaller Church Sacred Tear Location

Second Church of Marika Sacred Tear

Head north or northwest from the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace, in the central Altus Plateau. Prepare for a fight before you claim the tear. An NPC named Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger, invades you near this church. I recommend reaching around level 50 to grab the Sacred Tear near the large statue.

  • Second Church of Marika Sacred Tear Location

Mountaintop of the Giants Sacred Tears

This area is highly difficult but highly rewarding. If you survive the mountains, you will leave with more than just two Sacred Tears.

Church of Repose Sacred Tear

This church sits just southeast of the Fire Giant boss arena and west of the Foot of the Forge Site of Grace. You must defeat the Bloody Finger Okina invasion here before you claim the Sacred Tear below the large statue. Defeat this enemy to obtain the Rivers of Blood katana. You must progress past Morgott to unlock this Tear.

  • Church of Repose Sacred Tear Location

First Church of Marika Sacred Tear

Find this in the northern Mountaintops at the edge of the Consecrated Snowfield. It rests near the Whiteridge Road Site of Grace, close to the Borealis, the Freezing Fog boss fight. I think this is one of the most symbolic places in Elden Ring. The architecture echoes Marika’s statue at the Erdtree. The frozen lakeside placement is a nod to Godfrey and the fall of the Giants. The Tear rests below the large statue. This is effectively locked behind progressing past Morgott, just like the Church of Repose.

How to Use Sacred Tears

To use a Sacred Tear, rest at a Site of Grace. Select the Flask option and choose “Increase amount replenished by flasks”. Crimson Flask upgrades give you huge healing boosts early on before diminishing returns set in. The Cerulean Flask actually improves at a steadier, more constant rate after the +4 upgrade.

These are each of the 12 Elden Ring Sacred Tear Locations. Drink them all and have the most potent Flask of Crimson and Cerulean Tears. But will they really be effective in boss fights? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
