Sacred Tear Locations

Elden Ring Third Church of Marika Sacred Tear Location

The Elden Ring Third Church of Marika Sacred Tear location can be found early on in the Mistwood on the east side of Limgrave. It’s an easy detour, but an important one. This tiny ruin also has a Crimson Crystal Tear and the Flask of Wondrous Physick, one of the best flasks in the game. Here’s exactly where to find the church and what to grab once you’re inside.

Where to Find the Third Church of Marika Location

Start at the Waypoint Ruins in the east of Agheel Lake, right by the Fringefolk area. Head north from the Cellar of the Waypoint Ruins Site of Grace, where you’ll pass sorcerers hawking wares next to a guy with a mad pumpkin head on.

Keep going east past Lake Agheel’s bridge, then swing by the Artist’s Shack Site of Grace. The church is just past that, north of the Mistwood proper behind a shallow pond. So if you run into water blocking your path, that means you’re close.

Alternate Route: From Lake Agheel, take the road northwest instead. From the Gatefront Ruins, just head straight east until the Mistwood opens up. It’s a longer walk, but the forest is impossible to miss. In either route, grab the Limgrave East map fragment while you’re out there; you’ll pass right by it.

Enemies to Watch For

Wolves and eagles roam the area around the church, but they’re not a real threat. You can ignore or kill a couple of them without much risk. The Mistwood bears are a different story. They hit hard and run you over fast if you are a low-level character. So just run past and get inside the church. You’re not Hugh Glass! You don’t need to survive a bear.

What You’ll Find at the Church

Head to the statue at the back of the church. It’s surrounded with orange flowers, so it’s easy to spot. Everything you need to grab is right in front of it. You’ll find the Sacred Tear on the altar, plus a Crimson Crystal Tear, which restores half your total HP when used. The Flask of Wondrous Physick will also be in a large stone bowl nearby.

What Does the Sacred Tear Do?

You won’t find the Sacred Tear in your inventory. To use a Sacred Tear, rest at a Site of Grace, and you’ll choose the option to upgrade your Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears, the ones that restore HP and FP. Golden Seeds add more charges to those flasks; Sacred Tears make each charge heal for more. This is the first one you’ll come across. Get all 12 Sacred Tears to reach maximum potency.

What Does the Flask of Wondrous Physick Do?

Once you’ve got the flask, rest at any Site of Grace and you’ll see a new option: Mix Wondrous Physick. You can combine up to two Crystal Tears into a custom effect, whatever combo you need for the fight ahead. The catch is it only holds one charge per rest, and there’s no way to add more. Think of it less like a spare Estus flask and more like a cheat code you save for boss fights.

Let me know in the comments if you know a better way to the Third Church of Marika Sacred Tear location that I missed.
