Bellum Church Sacred Tear is on the Bellum Highway in Liurnia of the Lakes, and it’s an easy one to miss if you don’t know the route. The statue inside isn’t even Marika. It’s Radagon! You don’t need to beat Rennala to get here either, just the Academy Glintstone Key. Below is the fastest way to the Sacred Tear location and whether you should show up at night for the Nightrider Glaive.

Where Is Bellum Church
Bellum Church sits in the northern part of Liurnia of the Lakes, built into the Bellum Highway that climbs toward the Grand Lift of Dectus and the Altus Plateau. It’s on high ground, with a ravine below and enemies scattered along the road.
The church itself is worth a second look. Most ruined churches in Liurnia hold Marika’s statue, but this one has Radagon instead. Two Sites of Grace are in the area: East Raya Lucaria Gate to the south, and Bellum Church itself once you reach it.
How to Get to Bellum Church Sacred Tear
The Bellum Church Sacred Tear glows at the Radagon statue’s feet, tucked among a patch of flowers just past the church entrance. It’s not hidden or gated behind anything. You have two ways to reach it:
Fastest Route
From the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace, head north. You’ll pass through a wooded stretch of ruins guarded by Cuckoo Knights before the road opens up to the church. Three ways up from there: the ramp on the western side, through the flooded valley in the northern lakes, then up that same ramp, or along the eastern cliff-top path. The ramp is the most direct if you’re coming straight from the Grace.
Important Note: You don’t need to beat Rennala to get here. Grab the Academy Glintstone Key (a rock cluster west of Raya Lucaria, guarded by Glintstone Dragon Smarag) and use it on the seal north of the Main Academy Gate. That teleports you across the broken bridge to the Academy’s east gate, dropping you at the East Raya Lucaria Gate grace. From there, it’s a straight shot north.
Alternate Cliff Route
Already explored eastern Liurnia? There’s a shortcut near the Walking Mausoleum north of the Church of Vows. Platform down the exposed ledges on that cliffside instead of going back through the Academy. It’s less direct than the main route, but it saves a trip if you’re already in that part of the map.
Day or Night: When to Visit Bellum Church
The Night’s Cavalry patrols the highway between the East Raya Lucaria Gate grace and Bellum Church, but only shows up after dark. Fight it, and you get the Nightrider Glaive, Ash of War: Giant Hunt, and 5,600 runes.
The fight isn’t bad once you know the trick. It hits with Standard and Pierce damage, and it’s immune to Sleep and Madness, though Poison, Scarlet Rot, Hemorrhage, and Frostbite still work until it builds resistance. Parry it, and the rider gets knocked off the horse, wide open for a dismount critical. It also tends to get stuck on the ruins along the road, which makes it an easy target for ranged sorcery if you’d rather not get close.
Just want the tear? Go during the day and skip the fight entirely.
Other Loot and Nomadic Merchant Location
There is always more to loot in Elden Ring walkthroughs. Bellum Church also offers a Golden Centipede, a crafting material, somewhere around the church grounds. So keep an eye out as you clear the area.
The Nomadic Merchant is trickier. Sources don’t agree on where he actually sits. He is on the slope heading down to the west of the church (probably the same place you came to the church from). He sells general goods and drops Nomadic Merchant’s Bell Bearing (6) if killed.
If you’re on Hyetta’s questline, she shows up here too, asking for a Fingerprint Grape. That grape drops from Festering Fingerprint Vyke, who invades near the Church of Inhibition. Hand it over, and she thanks you before moving on.

No. The Academy Glintstone Key is all you need. Use it on the seal north of the Main Academy Gate Grace, and you’re teleported straight to Bellum Highway.
Hyetta isn’t at Bellum Church. What do I do?
Go back to her spot at Gate Town Bridge and finish her dialogue there. She won’t move to Bellum Church until every line is exhausted.
