All RDR2 Gold Bar Locations

There’s no doubt that once things really get started in Chapter 2 in Red Dead Redemption 2, one thing that keeps bugging you is the fact that you, Arthur Morgan, are super poor. That makes you look for ways to get rich as soon as possible.
One thing we all know is that getting rich through treasure maps is not the only way. There are gold bars scattered around the world that need no treasure map. You can find and sell them to a Fence to get $500 per gold bar. With that out of the way, let’s get to it.
Here are all RDR2 gold bar locations to make some quick cash.
What you will read here:
Limpany Gold Bar
Go south of Valentine, across the Dakota River and north of Flatneck Station to the burned town of Limpany.

Go inside the sheriff’s office. Take an immediate left and walk around the desk. Under the desk in a lockbox lies your one shiny gold bar. While you’re at it, you can also get the Horse Stimulant pamphlet.
Sketched Map Gold Ingot
Though it is only a gold ingot, it’s still worth $300 which you can use to upgrade the camp and even fast travel. Head to Annesburg and look for a small cottage in the north called Reed Cottage.

Go inside the cottage and investigate the chimney. You’ll find the Sketched Map. Now travel to the north part of Elysian Pool.
On the edge of the cliff, find the sole tree with the mark X on it. Now do as the map says: “20 steps north and 5 steps east,” and only then will you be able to find a hidden gold ingot under that rock. Here’s how to find the Sketched Map gold ingot.
Rhodes Gold Bar
Just a little bit east of Shady Belle in Crawdad Willies, you can find two escapees: one of whom is dead and the other shackled, begging you to shoot those shackles off him. Do it.

He’ll give you the secret location of one gold bar, which is hidden under a small bright rock southwest of the train tracks in Rhodes. This is our detailed Rhodes gold bar guide.

Braithwaite Manor Gold Bar
I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t played the game yet. So you can get this one upon reaching Chapter 4. At the northwest end of the Braithwaite Manor, which is located south of Rhodes, you will see the burned house.

Near the burned corpse, you can find your gold bar. Here’s how you do find Braithwaite Manor gold bar.
The Strange Statue Puzzle Gold Bars
Southeast of Wapiti Indian Reservation, just beneath the I of Ambarino on the map, you will find a couple of rocks. In between them is the cave you should enter.

In the cave, you can see that there’s one little statue in the center surrounded by seven bigger male statues. You should press the statues according to the number of their fingers, which should be 2, 3, 5, and 7.
Pro tip: If you mess it up, push the buttons behind the statue you just pressed to reset it.
After doing it right, you will hear a sound and you can collect your well-deserved 3 gold bars from the statue in the center.
Train Wreck Gold Bars
This is the tricky one. However, if you know what to do and which path to take, you’ll end up getting your 2 gold bars in no time. It’s located north of Valentine, east of Granite Pass, which is southwest of Cotorra Springs, under the railroad tracks.

You should pass these train wrecks. The upright train wreck, as you can see in the picture, is where we should go. Scale the hill until you see a path to your left, which you can easily miss.
Run towards it and climb. Now, as you can see in the picture, you have to make it to the other side.
Start running and when the time is right, jump. Here is the easy part. Make a jump again to the upright train and at the bottom lie your 2 gold bars.
WARNING: Save your game manually before doing the train wreck treasure.
Loot everything to get some other valuables too. Jump through the window. As an added bonus, the nearby wreck contains a chest full of valuables. Get them if you like. Visit our Train Wreck gold bar walkthrough page for more info.
Where to Sell Gold Bars in Red Dead Redemption II
Gold bars in Red Dead Redemption II play an important role and they’re worth a lot. There are more than twenty gold bars in the game, which are worth more than $10,000 combined.
That would permanently solve your empty pockets problem. You can buy guns, camp upgrades, horses, talismans, trinkets, and basically anything that’s available for sale.
The thing is, you can’t sell gold bars at General Stores for their full cash value. What you should do is visit a Fence and sell them there. You will get $500 per gold bar.
All Fence Locations
Complete Hosea’s mission, The Spines of America, to unlock your first Fence. It’s located at Emerald Ranch in the Heartlands, east of Valentine.
The other Fences are already unlocked, so you can visit them even if you haven’t finished that mission yet. There is a Fence in Saint Denis on the east side. Another just north of Rhodes and one more in Van Horn by the water.
Here are all the locations of Fences in to which you can sell your gold bars for $500 each.

That’s it for all the gold bars that require no map in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. Feel free to check out our main RDR2 guide page for more.
