What You’ll Read:
OSRS Leagues 6 Fishing Basics
Fishing is a skill used to catch various raw fish from water sources across Gielinor. By default, these are raw. You’ll need to cook them to restore hitpoints during combat or other activities. To start, find a fishing spot in a body of water and interact with it using the correct tool and bait.
For most spots, you need specific equipment like a small fishing net, a fishing rod, or a harpoon. If you use a rod, you also need bait like fishing bait, feathers, or karambwanji. So stick with me to learn the whole story.

OSRS Leagues 6 Fishing Relics
These five relics affect Fishing:
Endless Harvest: As its name suggests, Endless Harvest allows you to fish from fishing spots, even when they become empty. This Tier 1 relic also doubles your catch and grants XP for extra resources. Lastly, it lets you send everything you caught straight to your bank.
Barbarian Gathering: This relic offers a more active approach. You catch fish with your bare hands, which act like a crystal harpoon. If you fail to catch a fish, this relic offers a 50% chance of a second roll to succeed. And if you succeed, it grants a 10% XP bonus to Strength and Agility. It also includes a knapsack to store your fish.
Hotfoot: This is an essential Tier 2 pick that gives you the Searing Boots. Besides multiple Agility effects, these boots automatically cooks every fish you catch.
Butler’s Bell: Butler’s Bell is a Tier 4 relic, as it sounds. You summon a demon butler to catch about 14 fish per minute (among other services), even if you are offline. Although you only receive the resources, not the XP.
Abundance: This relic permanently boosts your Fishing level by 10.

Skipping Early Levels
The early levels of Fishing are a waste of time. So try to skip them as fast as possible. I recommend completing the early Varlamore task routes to grab some quick experience. Once you hit level 40, beat the “In Search of Knowledge” miniquest to receive 10,000 XP.
Best Fishing Training Routes
There are 9 different methods of fishing, each with different requirements and regions. Although you can find common fish in most places in Gielinor. Below, you can find more valuable methods to hit 99:
Note: If you equip the Barbarian Gathering relic, you do not even need tools for these methods, though you might still need bait.
| Method | Fishing Level | Regions | Max Level XP/Hr | The Strategy |
| Fly Fishing | 20 | All | 50k | The fishing spot north of the fairy ring DKP never moves. You need karambwanji for bait. |
| Tempoross | 35 | Desert | 74k | |
| Barbarian Fishing | 48 (Plus Agility lvl. 15 & Strength lvl. 15) | Kandarin | 66k | Trains your Agility and Strength slowly. Keep the roe and caviar for easy Herblore training. |

Fishing Bosses and Minigames
There are some bosses and minigames related to fishing in the game. The following are the best ones I’ve found after hours of testing:
Tempoross Strategies (Desert)
Unlock the Desert region to access the Tempoross Fishing boss. This encounter provides massive experience rates and a unique reward pool. Defeat this boss to obtain the Dragon Harpoon as early as possible. This gear maximizes your catch rates.
Fishing Trawler (Kandarin)
Pick Kandarin to unlock the Fishing Trawler minigame. This is your main method to obtain the Angler’s outfit. The outfit boosts your base Fishing experience and is essential for maximum efficiency. Jump into this minigame early to get the outfit out of the way before your 99 grind.
Essential Fishing Gear & Boosts
The Dragon Harpoon and Angler’s Outfit should be your top priority for OSRS Leagues 6 Fishing. Here’s why:
Dragon Harpoon
As I mentioned before, you need the Dragon Harpoon for maximum catch rates. You can grab it from the Tempoross reward pool if you unlock the Desert region. If you unlocked Kourend instead, farm wyrms for a rare drop. Equip the harpoon and use its special attack to boost your Fishing level by a solid 3 points.
Angler’s Outfit
The Angler’s outfit is a must-have for the long run. You earn the pieces by playing the Fishing Trawler minigame. This minigame requires the Kandarin region. The full set increases your base Fishing experience. Grab it early to maximize your gains on the way to 99.

Fishing Shops
You do not need to grind for gear because the game features several shops that sell Fishing supplies:
| Shop Name | Location | Region |
| Gerrant’s Fishy Business | Port Sarim | Asgarnia |
| Ishmael’s Fish He Sells | Ruins of Unkah | Desert |
