Dispatch Brainteaser Answers: How to Solve Episode 4 Riddles

When you play Episode 4 of Dispatch, the villain Brainteaser interrupts your shift with a call. He gives you an ultimatum near the end of your first dispatch shift in Restructure, right after you’ve handled Nostalgically Yours, Theatrically Yours, and Comically Yours. You can either answer his questions or track him down. I highly recommend picking the dialogue option to Humor the Brainteaser. This path gives the Z-Team free experience points. As long as you answer all three riddles correctly, you clear the mission with an easy Intellect check (level 1) and no one gets hurt. If you just want the solutions fast, look at the table below.
What we cover:
Quick Answer: All 3 Brainteaser Riddle Answers
| Brainteaser’s Riddle | Correct Answer | Incorrect Options |
|---|---|---|
| What’s my favorite game? | The Wolves Inside Us | The Wolf Within Us, The Wolves Have Eyes |
| What about my favorite movie? | Standing Alive | Staying Alive, Walking Dead |
| Who was my greatest nemesis? | Mecha Man Prime | Mecha Man Astral, Mecha Man Blue |
Heads up: An old bug meant only the final answer had to be correct, but that’s been patched. In the current version, you need all three answers right to get the easy Intellect check. One wrong pick and it jumps straight to a level 10 check.

Should You Humor the Brainteaser or Find the Brainteaser?
Robert has to make a tough call during this dispatch sequence. Humoring the Brainteaser is the high-reward path. Get every answer right and the whole squad earns XP with an easy Intellect check. But it is also the higher-risk option, one wrong answer spikes that check to level 10 and a failed check means a team member gets injured.
If you instead pick Find the Brainteaser, you carry a low injury risk but you miss out on the easy XP reward and force your squad into a tougher pursuit. I still prefer Humor the Brainteaser, since knowing the answers turns it into an essentially free win.
If you decide to hunt him down instead:
- You will need heroes with high Intellect, Vigor, Mobility stats.
- Sonar or Coupe are great for the intelligence aspect.
- Pair them with heavy hitters like Golem, Phenomaman or Punch Up.
What Happens If You Give the Wrong Answers?
As I said, the developers patched an old bug and now you must get every single one right.
If you select a trap answer like The Wolves Have Eyes, the game punishes you. The required Intellect check jumps from a very easy level 1 up to a brutal level 10. If you fail this check, a team member gets hurt.
For the last question about his greatest nemesis, the wrong answers are actually Robert’s family members. Mecha Man Blue is Robert himself. Mecha Man Astral is his father, Robbie Robertson II. The correct nemesis is Bobby Robertson I, who operated as Mecha Man Prime.
How Do You Actually Know the Answers in the Game?
If you look for a Dispatch Brainteaser reddit thread, you will see people arguing that these are not even real riddles. They are just a memory game.
Brainteaser expects you to remember the earlier missions from your shift. The answers link directly to the locations where he planted bombs.
- The Wolves Inside Us refers to the Nostalgically Yours call. (Fun fact: It is a nod to The Wolf Among Us, the Telltale game, since AdHoc Studio was founded by Telltale veterans, including the writers and director of The Wolf Among Us.)
- Standing Alive connects to the theater bomb in Theatrically Yours.
- Mecha Man Prime is the replica from the Comically Yours investigation.
Each of those three earlier calls drops a clue if you’re paying attention. For example, the Nostalgically Yours call literally hands you a list of game titles to pick from, and “The Wolves Inside Us” is right there on it.
