Cyberpunk 2077 Body Attribute and Perks: The Complete Guide

Body is the attribute for players who’d rather solve a problem by hitting it until it stops moving. It’s the stat behind V’s raw physical power and if you’ve ever wanted to rip a turret off its mount, punch through a locked door.

Since Patch 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion of Cyberpunk 2077, Body works differently than it did at launch. The old Athletics/Annihilation/Street Brawler split is gone. Everything now sits inside one unified perk tree tied directly to your Body attribute level. It’s genuinely one of the better-designed trees in the game.

What Body Actually Does

Every point you put into Body gives you a flat +2 Max Health, which adds up fast if you’re pushing toward level 20. Beyond that, raising Body improves your handling with:

  • Shotguns
  • Light Machine Guns (LMGs)
  • Heavy Machine Guns (HMGs)
  • Blunt Weapons (Gorilla Arms count here too)

It’s also your ticket to a handful of non-combat perks most players overlook. These include forcing open certain locked doors, ripping HMGs straight off enemy turrets, and unlocking intimidating or “solo-trained” dialogue options in conversations.

None of that shows up on a build spreadsheet, but it changes how a few quests play out.

One thing worth knowing before you commit: Perk points reset for free any time you want to respec. Attribute points don’t. You only get one full attribute reset per playthrough. Therefore, dumping everything into Body on a whim isn’t quite as reversible as swapping perks around.

Solo: The Passive Skill Tied to Body

Separate from the perk tree, Body has its own experience track called Solo, which levels up just from using Body-related abilities in combat.

You can punch things, tank hits, sprint into gunfights, that kind of thing. Solo caps at level 60 and hands out passive bonuses along the way, including two free Perk Points at levels 30 and 35. The milestones worth flagging:

  • Level 5: +50 Carrying Capacity
  • Level 10: +10 Health
  • Level 15: Fists and Gorilla Arms deal +20% damage and attack 20% faster, plus a chance to inflict Bleeding with Fists
  • Level 20: +100 Carrying Capacity
  • Level 25: +15 Health
  • Level 30 / 35: +1 Perk Point each
  • Level 40: +10% Crit Chance against enemies within 5 meters
  • Level 45: +25% damage with Strong Attacks and Quick Melee Attacks
  • Level 50: +25% Health restored after landing a Finisher
  • Level 55: Adrenaline decays 50% slower during Adrenaline Rush and can’t drop below 10%
  • Level 60: While Berserk (the cyberware) is active: +30% enemy Health threshold for Finishers, +50% Health gained from Finishers, +30% longer Berserk duration

You don’t manage this tree yourself. It just happens while you play, which makes it easy to forget it’s there until you suddenly notice your carry weight went up.
