How to Get a Gun in ROB RUN?
You have two main ways to get weapons in ROB RUN. You can search for them in Looty Bay or buy them from the black market.
Finding as Loot
Weapons can spawn around the city as loot. The developers added more starter-weapon spawn points in the November 4 update. If you’re low on cash, looting is an option before committing to a purchase.
Buying from Black Market
Lenny gives you access to the Black Market, where you can buy weapons. This is especially useful when you want to check what’s available instead of relying on random loot. Once you have a base, its laptop also provides access to the Black Market. You don’t have to rely exclusively on visiting Lenny whenever you need to check weapon purchases.

I wouldn’t treat any one route as guaranteed to provide a specific gun.
Weapon availability and unlock requirements matter, particularly when you’re trying to move beyond starter equipment.
ROB RUN Gun: Unlock More Weapons
Open the shipment menu by pressing H. You can also use the side menu while you are in the desert, Lenny’s Motel, or Looty Bay.
Some goods require your base to be in a settlement of a certain level. Others are tied to accumulated jail time. These requirements are part of ROB RUN’s progression system, so having enough money doesn’t necessarily mean every item is immediately available.
If you’re still figuring out how settlements, shipments, and jail time work together, we’ve covered these progression systems in our ROB RUN guide.

Base Value is the item’s base worth, not a guaranteed purchase price. Sellers outside the Black Market charge roughly three times as much: the AP Scalar is listed at $345,000 from a seller versus $115,000 on the Black Market, and the RC 5.56 at $96,000 versus $32,000. Not every variant is sold at all.
The Best Guns in ROB RUN: My Choices
Here are the best ROB RUN guns I have tested in the game:
DP-9: A Low-Cost Pistol
The DP-9 Mk1 has the lowest base price in the table at $300. It deals 18 damage per shot, fires at a rate of 333 RPM, and holds 14 rounds. Its full-damage distance is 20 meters. Damage starts falling off beyond that point. For someone comparing low-cost weapons, this is a sensible pistol to investigate first.

AP Scalar: Highest Fire Rate
The AP Scalar reaches 1,000 RPM, the highest fire rate in the database. Its damage is 14 per shot. The Mk1 and Mk2 have 25-round magazines, while the Mk3 carries 45. That’s a notable capacity increase without a change to the base damage.
Vulture 50: Highest Pistol Damage
The Vulture 50 Mk1 and Mk2 each deal 36 damage per shot.
That comes with a seven-round magazine and a firing rate of 240 RPM. It’s a very different set of numbers from the faster, lower-damage DP-9, and raw damage alone won’t tell you which performs better in a fight.
LM 249 Mk2: Largest Magazine
In magazine capacity, the LM 249 Mk2 is the standout. It has a 200-round magazine, 706 RPM, and 18 damage per shot. Its reload takes five seconds, longer than those of the other weapons. It also has the highest base value at $209,600.
Are you short on cash for better weapons? Our ROB RUN money guide covers how to earn money through heists, sell stolen goods, and keep your earnings safe until the next wipe.
Can You Lose Your Gun in ROB RUN?
Yes, but the circumstances matter.
If you die as a Criminal in Looty Bay, you lose your inventory. Civilian deaths in the city work differently, since civilians keep their equipped gear and bag contents. Police officers lose department-issued equipment when killed but keep personal equipment.
Surrendering can also matter more than you’d expect.

Police confiscate your bag contents when you surrender, but you retain equipped gear. An accepted bribe lets you keep all your loot.
And there’s one more catch: ROB RUN has a seven-day Federal Raid wipe cycle. Weapons are among the possessions removed when the cycle ends. So before spending a fortune on a new gun, it’s worth considering how much time remains before the next wipe.
Can Police Officers Get Better Guns?
You can enlist at the Looty Bay Police Station when recruitment slots are open. Joining provides standard gear and a patrol vehicle, while improving your badge unlocks better equipment.
The November 4 update limited patrol cops to pistols when a fresh server opens, and the November 5 balance patch shortened that pistol-only window to the first 30 minutes after a server starts. The same patch lowered the maximum number of cops in the city to 4. Officers who answer a call for backup also get upgraded gear and a temporary pay boost.

That allows criminals to get established early, though it certainly doesn’t mean the police are harmless. I wouldn’t plan a heist around that assumption.
Can You Get a Free Gun After Respawning?
The developers originally proposed giving players a pistol when joining a server and after each respawn. Before release, they changed direction and instead made starter weapons easier to acquire.
The November 4 update reduced the basic pistol’s price and added more starter-weapon spawns. If you die and lose your inventory, you’ll need to work with the acquisition options available rather than count on a guaranteed replacement pistol.
What I’d Prioritize Before Buying a Gun
I’d check the purchase requirements first and compare the weapon’s damage range with the kind of encounter I’m preparing for. Magazine capacity is useful, but a larger magazine doesn’t make up for poor positioning or an escape route that leads straight into police trouble.

A gun isn’t only for shooting. During robberies, keeping staff at gunpoint prevents them from raising the alarm. Sometimes the most useful shot is the one you never have to fire.
And if a weapon’s price seems too good to be true, check the actual in-game purchase screen. Base values, vendor prices, and weapon availability aren’t necessarily the same thing.
