Rob Run Loot Explained: Where to Find It, Sell It and Keep It

Rob Run loot is easy to grab and even easier to lose. The process is simple: rob a place in Looty Bay, sell the valuables, and get your money somewhere safe. You are probably struggling with the last step. Here is how loot works, where to find it, and what you actually keep when things go wrong.

How Rob Run Loot Works

Loot is more than cash. It includes gear, vehicle keys, weapon mods, locked-room keys, building blueprints, land deeds, cash, and valuables you can sell. Valuables are what you will sell most of the time.

Heists happen in Looty Bay. You become a Criminal when you put on a mask. Before that, you can walk around, check a target, and plan your way out. Once the mask is on, Police and other Criminals can come after you.

There is also Notoriety. It goes up when you do heists back to back in the same visit. Higher Notoriety gets you better fence deals and perks, but the risk goes up too. Solo players and duos start with higher Notoriety than full crews.

Where to Find Rob Run Loot

There are two major places where you can find loot:

Houses, Stores and High-Value Targets

You can rob houses and stores in Looty Bay. Banks and the art gallery are the riskier targets. Weapons can also spawn around the city as loot. More starter-weapon spawn points on November 4 has been added to the game, and it dropped the idea of a free pistol after every death, so don’t plan around one.

A house robbery looks something like this: You walk up to the alarm panel outside, press E to disable it, then go in. You can point a weapon at the people inside so they can’t call the Police. Alarms, witnesses and other players can still bring the Police. What you can do is to keep staff from raising the alarm and to split the jobs in a team, with some people entering and others carrying loot or covering.

Two more loot sources are worth knowing. Vehicle trunks can be lockpicked with a tool from the Black Market, even on police cars. Helicopters are rare lootable vehicles.

Dumpsters and Shipments

Dumpsters give more cash now. They are worth checking when you have no gear. In my opinion they are not better than a heist.

On November 4th Shipments changed too. Dismantling and selling them pays a lot more, but they drop less often and take longer to dismantle. The Buletti can no longer carry shipments. So skip any old cargo guide.

How to Sell Loot in Rob Run

Looty Bay Fence and Sales Center

Valuables are worth nothing until you sell them. In Looty Bay, look for the van with a dollar sign on the map. That is the fence, and it buys stolen valuables.

The Sales Center also buys valuables, but you only get access as a settlement resident, so it is not a day-one option. It’s worth noting that district hubs can pay better than the city.

How to Keep Your Money After Selling

Take the cash from the counter right after the sale; it can be stolen or confiscated if you leave it there.

Then leave Looty Bay. Taking the mask off is not enough. You need to leave Looty Bay to clear your Criminal status.

How to Escape With Your Loot

You can scout your target and your way out before you put the mask on. After that, Police and other Criminals can step in and make all sort of problems for you. Think about how much you can carry and what you are driving too, because a big haul means nothing if you can’t get it back.

If you get caught, know what each option costs. If you choose Surrender you can keep your equipped gear, but your bag contents get confiscated. Bribing a Police officer can let you keep everything, but it only works if the officer accepts. Will he accept? You don’t know and you can never be sure.

The escape is also not over at the door. You still need to leave Looty Bay to drop your Criminal status.

How to Store Loot and Protect Your Cash

There are a couple of way you can protect your cash.

Lenny’s Cash Storage vs. Base Storage

Lenny’s stores cash only. Your base stores stolen goods, but other players can raid it. A raid uses a decoder on a rival Security System, and the owner can repair it to bring the protection back.

Everything resets every seven days. At the Federal Raid wipe, plots, bases, weapons and cash are wiped and turned into jail time and authority. Cosmetics, your name, tutorial progress, settings and jail time carry over. So loot is only good for the current week.

One warning from Steam. A player says they logged out with a little over 400k and pistols in a bag, then came back to different, older loot. Another player reported lost loot too. I think this is probably a bug and is going to get fixed soon.

Bank Accounts and Money Laundering

Banked money can’t be stolen. It stays protected until the wipe. You just have to open a bank account and everything will be very easy from there.

What Happens to Your Rob Run Loot When You Die?

It depends on who you are when you die.

SituationWhat happens to your loot
Criminal dies in Looty BayYou lose your inventory
Criminal surrenders to PoliceBag contents are confiscated, equipped gear is kept
Police officer accepts your bribeYou keep all your loot
Civilian dies in Looty BayYou keep your bag contents and equipped gear

So sell fast, leave Looty Bay, and bank what you can.
