RDR2: The High Stakes Treasure Map 1 Location

Much like the Jack Hall Gang treasure, the High Stakes treasure is a solid choice for anyone who wants to get their hands on three gold bars. So saddle up, because I’m about to show you the fastest way to find the High Stakes Treasure Map 1.
Don’t forget to checkout our main RDR2 wiki hub as well. With that out of the way, let’s begin the treasure hunt.
The High Stakes Treasure Map 1 Location
First things first, to begin the treasure hunt, you must first find the High Stakes Treasure Map 1. An old explorer guy has this map and appears randomly around Riggs Station and the Dakota River.

As shown in the picture, approach him and steal the map, because he won’t give you the map willingly. And if you really do want to get the map without losing your Honor, just run into him, literally. He will drop the map. Now you have the means to start the High Stakes treasure hunt.

If somehow you lost him or didn’t have the chance to get the map off him, he will spawn in the area I’ve just mentioned after three to four in-game days. If you do miss him again, you can buy the map from a Fence later on.
Pro tip: If this treasure hunt doesn’t trigger for you, I highly recommend that you to find the first Jack Hall map first. Only then will you be able to proceed with the High Stakes treasure hunt.

Now that you have the map, time to get things started. Travel to the eastern part of Cumberland Falls, which is just east of Wallace Station and west of the beautiful town of Valentine.

As you can see in the picture, there’s a small fallen log that you can use to go behind the waterfall. Now grab the ledge and pull yourself up.

There you can see a small cave-like space. Nice cozy place if you ask me. Now search there to get $5 as well as what you came here for: The High Stakes Treasure Map 2.
