How to Fix No Path to Destination in Planet Zoo 2

Planet Zoo 2 No Path to Destination is the error that pops up when you try to move an animal into a habitat that looks perfectly fine. Sometimes it’s a tiny hidden gap in a path. Other times your staff walks right through the gate, and the transfer still fails. Update 1.0.5 doesn’t promise a fix, so no single trick works for everyone. I’ve ordered the checks below from cheapest to most annoying. Start at the top.

Quick Fix Checklist for Planet Zoo 2 No Path to Destination
Run these in order. They’re boring, but they rule out the dumb stuff in about two minutes.
- Update to 1.0.5 or newer. Some early workarounds floating around are already outdated.
- Unpause the game for a few seconds, then retry the transfer. It could work for some players.
- Check the animal’s transfer status. “In Storage,” “Quarantine,” and “At Habitat” are different problems, so know which one yours is stuck in.
- Trace the whole route, not just the gate. Start at the trade centre door, go through quarantine if you use it, and end at the keeper gate.
- Change one thing, then retest. If you fix three things at once, you’ll never know which one worked.
Check the Route From Trade Center or Quarantine to the Habitat
Most fixes that actually worked in Reddit threads came from this part of the route, so zoom in here first.
The Building Door
Prefab buildings and blueprints can snap to a path and look connected while the door isn’t. One player traced their failed transfers to a path that snapped next to the trade centre entrance without really joining it. Another found a tiny path piece missing beside a staff gate after a building went down. Zoom in on the last tile at every door and rebuild it by hand.

The Keeper Gate
Rebuild the last path piece where it meets the habitat gate. A slope between the path and the gate is another suspect. Replacing or rotating the gate is worth one try, but nobody has proven that orientation matters.

Fix Staff Paths and Work Zones
Open Staff Management, go to Work Zones, and find the zone your keeper is assigned to. Make sure the habitat sits inside it. If it doesn’t, add the habitat or draw a separate zone for it.
Zones aren’t the whole story, though. One player had the right zones and staff walked the paths, yet the game still said the zones were unreachable. Recreating them didn’t help. A worker who can walk somewhere is no proof the job can actually be assigned.
Don’t trust the “only keepers can move animals” either. Nobody has confirmed it for Planet Zoo 2. One thread suggests the vet can fail at a gate that keepers and mechanics pass, so check the vet’s zone too. That’s a theory, not a verified fix.

Paths Are Connected but Animals Still Won’t Move
This is the worst version of the error. Players on Reddit report a mechanic walking into the habitat while the transfer still fails, on PC and on PS5. Your path might be fine, and the cause might be a bug nobody has pinned down yet.
Everything below is from players’ experience, so none of it is a confirmed fix. Try one at a time:
| Experiment | Catch |
|---|---|
| Move the keeper hut closer to the gate | Others still had the error days later |
| Rebuild the staff buildings | Nobody reproduced it |
| Nudge the gate, then press Ctrl+Z | No known success rate |
| Save and reload with a stuck transfer | Only reported for frozen queues |
Note: Back up your save before deleting anything. Then you can try everything without worrying.
How to Report the Bug
If your route is solid and the transfer still fails, stop rebuilding. Frontier asked players to send reproducible issues to the Issue Tracker, and a good report helps more than a fifth gate rebuild.
Save a copy of the affected zoo first. Then write down:
- Your build number, platform, and game mode
- The exact error text
- The source (trade centre or quarantine) and the destination habitat
- What the staff did, such as walking to the gate and turning around
- Screenshots or a short clip of the route
Skip the Windows file verification and driver advice you’ll see elsewhere. That’s for crashes and launch errors, not a stuck transfer.

FAQ
Should I start a new zoo or delete my habitat?
Not as a first move. One player’s new zoo didn’t have the error, but others still hit it after starting over. Save a backup before you delete anything big.
Are guests turning back at the entrance the same bug?
Probably not. Guest routes, tour points, and staff routes are separate systems that happen to share the word “path.” Don’t fix a keeper gate to solve a visitor problem.
Did update 1.0.5 fix No Path to Destination?
Not as far as the official notes say. This update focuses on other unrelated bugs.
