How to Complete the Grim Skull Daily Quest in Hero Siege

Grim Skull is one of those Hero Siege dailies that sound like a dungeon crawl but is actually a five-minute errand, if you know where to look. It sends you into Niflhel, a dungeon tucked inside Helheim, to grab a mystical skull and bring it back. Season 10 just made that trip a lot easier, since Helheim used to be behind a paid DLC in Act 8. So refusing pays off! Here’s exactly where to go and what you’re looking for.
What You’ll Read:
What Is the Grim Skull Quest in Hero Siege
Grim Skull is a daily quest among the Valhalla dailies. The description says “Find the mystical skull in Niflhel,” and your only objective is to collect the Skull.
The quest is about a respected warrior who died and got sent to rot in Niflhel. His skull is somewhere in there, supposedly gathered up by Grimbone, and it’s said to hold mystical powers. The quest-giver wants it back in exchange for some rewards. That’s it. No boss fight required, no hidden mechanic. Just find the skull and hand it over.

Do Not Confuse With Niflheim or Grim Reaper
Niflhel and Niflheim are different places, and players often confuse them. Niflheim is a Unique Zone you only reach through the Bifröst, the teleporter machine run by Heimdall in the Astral Encampment. (Also, don’t confuse all of these with Hell, which is a completely separate thing!)
Grim Reaper causes the other mix-up. That’s the Act 2 boss over in Death’s Breach, a totally unrelated fight. If someone tells you to take the Bifröst to find your skull, you’re asking the wrong guy.
How to Get to Niflhel
Niflhel is a dungeon inside Helheim, not a separate zone you walk into from the overworld. Helheim itself is the final zone of Act 8. So you’ll pass through the Gates of Helheim and the Ruins of Helheim before you reach it.

The big change for Season 10 is that Act 8 is free now! Gates of Valhalla used to be a paid DLC, which meant Helheim, and by extension, this whole quest, was not free. Every player can walk in as of the Ebontharn update. If you’ve never played Act 8 before, this is why.
Once you’re in Helheim, look for the Niflhel dungeon entrance and head inside.
How to Complete the Grim Skull Quest
Once you’re in Niflhel, look for skull piles near the start of the zone. It looks like a pile of skulls, duh! There are two piles near the entrance and more up ahead. The Hero Skull spawn location is random and under one of them, but there are other collectibles under the rest as well. So click on all of them.

Interact with it, and the skull drops immediately, completing the quest on the spot. No fight, no timer. If you don’t see it right away, keep exploring piles as you clear the entrance area.
Grim Skull Quest Rewards
Once you collect the Grim Skull, you need to go back to the Bounty Board (where you first found the quest) to give the Skull and claim your rewards. As you can see from the main image at the top of this guide, the rewards include:
- 38,500 XP
- 92,500 Gold
- Bifröst Key
Do you think these daily Grim Skull quest rewards are worth it? Why? Also, I would suggest doing the Hunger Issue quest too because that one is definitely worth it.
FAQ
Do you have to fight Grimbone to finish it?
No. Grimbone guards the optional Challenge Dungeon version, not the daily. Players have completed Grim Skull repeatedly without ever running into him.
Is the skull’s spawn point random?
Yes. Different players found it under different piles. Check every bone pile because the other piles offer rewards as well.
