All Subnautica 2 Tadpole Haul Chassis Locations & Crafting

The Subnautica 2 Tadpole Haul chassis transforms your basic sub into a heavy-duty cargo ferry with extra storage and room for your whole squad. You need to find its blueprint fragments to build it, and they can be a pain to find if you don’t know where to look. They can be found east of the Lifepod. Keep scrolling to find all of their exact locations below.

What is the Tadpole Haul Chassis?

The Haul Chassis is a heavy attachment for your Tadpole, built for resource extraction and cargo runs. Use it to carry cargo and passengers. Do not try to outrun Leviathans with it!

You get serious utility with this upgrade. Here are the most important Tadpole Haul Chassis features:

  • Squad Ready: It adds catamaran passenger pods and a top handlebar. Your whole 4-player squad can ride together. Every spot has an oxygen port.
  • Massive Storage: It comes with built-in cargo containers.
  • Hardpoints: You get two extra hardpoints to mount portable lockers, a work light, or an oxygen generator.
  • Deployable: You can detach the chassis at any time. It works as a standalone storage box when undocked.
  • Haul Camera: It features a bottom-mounted camera to help you navigate and spot resources.

All of these features come with a price. The Haul Chassis is heavy, slow and hard to maneuver. Also, you cannot access some tight spaces with a chassis. So in Subnautica 2 detach Chassis to avoid these issues. Let’s review the Tadpole Haul Chassis stats:

StatMax ValueImpact
Max Swim Acceleration250 cm/s² Heavier inertia; takes longer to hit max speed.
Turn Rate25°/s Poor maneuverability with a wider turning radius.
Granted Abilities2 Unlocks the Haul Camera Switch and Tadpole Detach Chassis.

How to Craft the Subnautica 2 Haul Chassis

You need to scan the fragments left by previous pioneers to craft the Tadpole Haul Chassis. Once you unlock the blueprint, head over to a Vehicle Bay or a Vehicle Fabricator to get started. Throw the ingredients below in there to craft a Haul Chassis.

Tadpole Haul Chassis recipe:

  • Titanium Ingots ×4
  • Strontium ×3
  • Enameled Glass ×3
  • Dedicated Core ×1

All Tadpole Haul Chassis Subnautica 2 Location

You need to scan three fragments to unlock the blueprint. They are located in the eastern sections of the map.

Fortunately, you can grab the first fragment and the Depth Module upgrade in the exact same cave. Here is the step-by-step path to get all three Tadpole Haul Chassis locations.

Fragment 1: The Rosetta Stone Cave (with Depth Module)

Head roughly 1,300 to 1,320 meters east of your Lifepod. Look for the “Alien Ruins” landmark and turn around until you face the 150-165 mark on your compass. Now dive straight down from it into the cave entrance.

Follow the path past the purple plants, rings, and sprout structures until you reach 250 meters depth. Here, your Tadpole cannot go deeper, so park right here and swim further down with your scanner ready.

If you dive a bit lower, you will find the Depth Module and the first fragment next to each other.

Fragment 2: The Acid Pool

Again, start from the Alien Ruins, turn around until you face directly east on your compass or towards the “Angel Comb” landmark.

Swim across the giant wrecked ship and go forward and downward wherever you can until you reach the green zone.

Go towards the green acid pool a few feet more. The second fragment should be just to your left on the ground.

Note: Keep your eyes peeled while grabbing this one. An aggressive Leviathan collector patrols this immediate area.

Fragment 3: The Acid Pools Cliff

This one is easy and very close. From the second fragment location, look up and face 165 degrees on your compass. Keep ascending and swim up over the cliffs.

You will find the last fragment sitting on the topmost cliff. Scan it, and you are done.

If you’ve done everything right, you should have a Tadpole Haul Chassis now. Do you have more questions? Write them in the comments below, and I will get back to you ASAP.
