The Vehicle Fabricator doesn’t require its own blueprint to unlock. You unlock it automatically by scanning the third Tadpole fragment. However, the problem for a lot of players is how to place the Vehicle Fabricator. With that out of the way, let’s see how to find and attach the Vehicle Fabricator to your Moonpool.

Where to Find Vehicle Fabricator in Subnautica 2
Right off the bat, to get the Vehicle Fabricator, you should find your third Tadpole fragment and scan it. This essentially unlocks the Tadpole blueprint and the Vehicle Fabricator as well. Suffice it to say, you have to also find and scan the other two Tadpole pieces to unlock the blueprint.
In order to find this Tadpole fragment, you have to dive pretty deep, that’s for sure. So get to this exact location where you’re 207 meters away from your Lifepod, 218 meters from the Welcome Center, and 467 meters from Camp One.
Once you’re about 65-ish meters deep underwater, you can see this entrance. Simply go in the opposite direction.
Go straight ahead past this giant wreckage shown in the picture.
A little further past this area shown in the picture, you can see there is a spot where you can descend even more. And that’s where you find this fragment to scan, which unlocks the Vehicle Fabricator as well. How to Attach Vehicle Fabricator in Subnautica 2
What’s even more frustrating is how to attach the Vehicle Fabricator to the Moonpool. If you’re trying to place it alongside the Moonpool in a room, it just won’t fit and will flash a red outline.
The solution is simple, though. To fix this, you have to drastically increase your room size. Continuously add titanium to stretch the room outwards in all directions until you have plenty of empty space on either side of the Moonpool. You generally don’t need to alter the Moonpool’s size itself to make it work. Don’t forget the Vehicle Fabricator takes a whole side to place.
Another massive factor is ground clearance. Because the new fabrication station physically sits below the Moonpool, your placement will fail if your base is built flat on the seabed. Make sure to build your room high up or hanging off a deep ledge so there is a large amount of open space directly beneath the base.
