Statuses are negative cards that get shuffled into your deck during combat. However, they are automatically removed once the fight ends.

What is Slay the Spire 2 Status Card ?

Most Status cards are unplayable and exist mainly to clog up your hand or deck. Some will deal damage if they remain in your hand at the end of your turn, while others can restrict your actions or reduce your ability to draw cards. These are the known Status Cards in STS 2 and their effects in the game:

  • Beckon: If this card remains in your hand at the end of your turn, you lose 6 HP.
  • Burn: Cannot be played. Deals 2 damage to you if it is still in your hand when your turn ends.
  • Dazed: Unplayable and is removed (Ethereal) if not used that turn.
  • Debris: Costs 1 Energy to play and is Exhausted after use.
  • Disintegration: Causes you to take 6 damage at the end of your turn.
  • Frantic Escape: Costs 1 Energy, increases Sandpit by 1 and becomes more expensive each time it’s played.
  • Infection: Unplayable and deals 3 damage if it stays in your hand at the end of your turn.
  • Mind Rot: Reduces your card draw by 1 each turn.
  • Slimed: Costs 1 Energy, lets you draw 1 card and is Exhausted after use.
  • Sloth: Limits you to playing a maximum of 3 cards per turn.
  • Soot: Cannot be played and has no additional effect.
  • Toxic: Costs 1 Energy and deals 5 damage if left in your hand at turn end, then Exhausts.
  • Void: Unplayable and Ethereal. when drawn, it makes you lose Energy.
  • Waste Away: Lowers the amount of Energy you gain each turn by 1.
  • Wound: Unplayable with no extra effects.
