There are various Slay the Spire 2 builds and you should improve then based on your character traits. In this section, each character build is discussed in full detail.

Ironclad Builds

The Ironclad’s cards in Slay the Spire 2 emphasize ramping and defense-first turtling .There are multiple builds you can run to carry you on your journey through the Spire. Here are a few of the most reliable and powerful.

Strength

Strength is the Ironclad’s main way to increase damage. By using buffs that add a flat bonus to all attack damage, he can turn multi-hit attacks into extremely deadly combos. This build is very straightforward: build up your Strength, then deal massive damage to enemies. Key cards of this build are Demon Form, Whirlwind and Heavy Blade.

Artifact removes the downside of Flex. This turns it into a very strong Strength boost. Reaper can heal a large amount of HP when your damage is boosted. An upgraded Double Tap in the late game can result in devastating damage.

Block

Block is a key mechanic in Slay the Spire 2 that helps you avoid taking damage and this deck focuses on maximizing Block. Cards that grant Block are common and most of them can work well in this build.

Barricade is especially important because it lets you keep your Block at the end of each turn. Juggernaut can also deal damage whenever you gain Block, while Iron Wave provides a balance of attack and defense . Flame Barrier adds a Thorns effect for extra damage.

If you do not have Barricade, Calipers can serve as a useful alternative and Bronze Scales can add helpful Thorns damage while you tank hits.

Exhaust

An Exhaust deck focuses on turning the downside of removing cards into an advantage. The core cards for this strategy are Corruption, Dark Embrace and Feel No Pain, which together form the main engine of the deck.

Corruption lets you play Skills for free but Exhausts them, Dark Embrace allows you to draw cards whenever something is Exhausted and Feel No Pain grants Block each time a card is removed. This creates strong card cycling, especially when combined with Dead Branch.

Dead Branch ensures you never run out of cards, while Medical Kit can let you play and Exhaust Status cards for extra value. If you do not have many ways to generate cards to Exhaust, keeping a few extra Attack cards can help. Once the Power combo is set up, this deck becomes extremely fast. It aims to defeat enemies in one or two turns with cards like Body Slam and Juggernaut.

Bloodletting

This build focuses on cards that damage the Ironclad when played, often called Bloodletting cards. While these cards cost HP, they are usually stronger than average and this deck uses Power cards to turn that self-damage into an advantage.

Key cards include Rupture and Brutality, with Rupture quickly stacking Strength, especially when combined with Limit Break. Brutality guarantees self-damage every turn.

Silent Builds

Shiv

This deck focuses on generating and using as many Shiv cards as possible. Shivs are weak on their own, but cards like Accuracy can greatly increase their damage. You can create Shivs with Blade Dance, Infinite Blades and Cloak and Dagger. Cards like Envenom and Sadistic Nature can add extra damage. After Image helps you gain Block when playing many 0-cost cards.

Poison

This deck uses Poison to deal damage over time. The goal is to stack Poison quickly with cards like Deadly Poison, Poisoned Stab and Noxious Fumes. Bane is helpful for early damage and Crippling Cloud can damage multiple enemies while weakening them. Once enemies have enough Poison, Catalyst can multiply it for very high damage. Burst can make this even stronger.

Regent Build

Sovereign Blade

The Sovereign Blade build focuses on forging the Sovereign Blade and using it as your main way to defeat enemies. The strategy is simple: forge the blade and reuse it to deal huge damage. Helpful early cards include Cosmic Indifference and Wrought in War. Bulwark and Summon Forth provide good Block and allow you to reuse the blade.

Slay the spire 2 regent builds

Strong synergy cards include Beat into Shape for faster forging and Conqueror for doubling effects. The Fencing Manual relic makes the blade easier to play early. Try to gain extra Energy and apply Vulnerable with cards like Falling Star or Gamma Blast to increase your damage.

Star Deck

This deck focuses on generating Stars so Regent can play powerful cards for little or no Energy. Early cards like Gather Light, Glow, Hidden Cache and Solar Strike help generate Stars and draw cards. Important synergy cards include Alignment for turning Stars into Energy, Cloak of Stars for free Block and Genesis for strong Star generation.

Key relics include Lunar Pastry for passive Star gain and Mini Regent for Strength scaling. Avoid adding too many pure Star generators, as they can fill your deck with cards.

Necrobinder Builds

Doom

This deck uses the Necrobinder’s Doom mechanic to mark enemies for instant kills when their HP drops to their Doom stacks. Key early cards include Blight Strike, Defile, Negative Pulse and Scourge to deal damage and apply Doom. Uncommons like Deathbringer and Delay provide AoE Doom and Block.

Slay the spire 2 necrobinder builds

Strong synergy cards such as Death’s Door, End of Days, No Escape, Oblivion, Shroud and Time’s Up amplify Doom damage or turn it into Block.

Useful relics include Book Repair Knife for healing and Undying Sigil to weaken enemies. Make sure to have a solid Block plan to survive the delayed damage.

Osty

The Necrobinder starts with low HP so she fights alongside Osty, a summoned hand that acts as a shield and can generate lasting health. Early cards include Protector, Pull Aggro and Snap for Block. Uncommons like High Five and Rattle add AoE and multi-attack damage.

Synergy cards like Fetch, Flatten, Necro Mastery, Reanimate, Sic ‘Em and Spur enhance Osty’s offense, defense and healing. Bone Flute is a key relic for extra Block. The goal is to keep Osty alive and growing. Keep in mind that a sacrificial variant using cards like Bone Shards is possible if you choose.

Defect Builds

Claw/0-Cost

This deck focuses on 0-cost attacks like Claw for huge damage. Key cards include Claw, Scrape and All for One, which help you generate more Claws and other cheap attacks like FTL. Hologram, Seek and Rebound can recycle cards for more combos. Neutral cards like Panache, Violence and Madness can also fit. Nuclear Battery gives extra energy without interfering with your plays.

Orb

This deck cycles Orbs for offense and defense. Lightning Orbs deal damage, Frost Orbs provide Block. Channeling new Orbs triggers their Evoke effects. Aggressive builds use more Lightning and fewer Orb slots for instant damage. Defensive builds use more Frost Orbs and extra slots for sustained Block.

Barrage and Darkness scale with Orb numbers. Useful relics include Calipers to carry Frost Block, Mummified Hand for Defragment spam.
