RDR2 Tomahawk and Other Melee Weapon Locations Guide

Much like hatchets, tomahawks serve the same purpose in the vast world of Red Dead Redemption 2. They are great melee weapons you can use to stealth kill cowboys and animals alike. Time to find every single tomahawk plus some other melee weapons in RDR2.
What You’ll Read Here
Ancient Tomahawk
You can acquire this bad boy, the Ancient Tomahawk right off the bat from Chapter 2. It’s located north of Bacchus Station, northeast of the Wapiti Indian Reservation. When you get to this location shown in the picture, you find the Ancient Tomahawk stuck in a tree stump.

Tomahawk
Once again, starting from Chapter 2, you can buy the Tomahawk from any Fence in the game, period. However, since you’re kicking things off from Valentine, and the Emerald Ranch is just east of the town, head over there and buy it from Seamus.

Homing Tomahawk
The Homing Tomahawk isn’t something you find in the wilderness. This one you have to craft for yourself. Head southwest of O’Creagh’s Run to Moonstone Pond. This is also the place where you find the Hewing Hatchet. Once you’re there, you can see that there’s a fallen tree resting on a cabin. Hop on that fallen tree to enter the cabin. There’s a chest there that contains the Homing Tomahawk Pamphlet.

Improved Tomahawk
For the Improved Tomahawk, you don’t need to buy or find the pamphlet. It’s already unlocked at the start of Chapter 2. The trick is, alongside the vanilla Tomahawk, you should have an eagle feather as well.

Broken Pirate Sword
Up until now maybe, even almost a decade after the release of RDR2, maybe you still haven’t seen or heard anything about the Broken Pirate Sword. Well, you have now, and it’s located southwest of Saint Denis, south of Caliga Hall on a little island as you can see in this picture. It doesn’t exactly look like an island in person, though. Anyway, it’s next to a skeleton on a half-sunken boat.

Machete
This machete makes Arthur/John look like they’re related to Jason Voorhees. It can be purchased from all fences after the “Fleeting Joy” mission in Chapter 5 for $10. What I always do is set up a camp and fast travel to Emerald Ranch to buy it from there.

Cleaver
Much like the previous one, you get a hold of this it after the Dear Uncle Tacitus mission in Chapter 5. You can buy it from any fence.
