The Volcanic Pistol, with a damage stat of 2.3 out of 4, is hands down the most powerful pistol in the game as far as sheer power is concerned. Although one drawback is that its fire rate (2) is not exactly the best. With a high accuracy of 2.9, it makes every shot count.
You can purchase this weapon from any gunsmith in the game.

2. Mauser Pistol
I know. Its 1.4 damage isn’t very impressive. However, when you consider the fact it holds 10 rounds plus its crazy fire rate, which is 3.2, you can shoot rapidly and go guns blazing with ease. The only catch is that you can only acquire it later in the game. This becomes available at gunsmiths in Valentine and Saint Denis after you complete That’s Murfree Country in Chapter 5.

The M1899 Pistol offers a great balance of high accuracy (2.8) and a fast fire rate (3.1). It also holds 8 rounds, which makes it very reliable in a fight. You can buy this pistol at the Saint Denis gunsmith after you finish the mission The Battle of Shady Belle in Chapter 3.
