Life is Strange Reunion Choices and Consequences Guide

You probably want to know how your decisions shape the story in Life is Strange: Reunion. Every choice can change the fate of Caledon University and its students. Unlike previous games in the series, Reunion actually allows you to achieve a perfect ending where everyone, including Chloe and Arcadia Bay, survives if you make the optimal choices.
Disclaimer: This guide is based on early gameplay data and community discussions. It includes secrets to save hidden characters. Major spoilers ahead!
What we cover here:
The First Important Choice
Before starting the main story, the game asks you to set up Max’s past. You must answer five legacy questions about her previous relationships. You can manually choose your answers or let the game randomize them.
Here are the five world state choices you must make:
- Amanda Thomas: Were you just friends or did you romance her?
- Chloe Price: Did she survive or die in Arcadia Bay?
- Max and Chloe: Were you best friends or romantically involved?
- Safiya Llewellyn-Fayyad: Did you support or reject her goal to find others with powers?
- Vinh Lang: Were you friends or did you pursue a romance?
The biggest decision here is Chloe’s fate that changes your entire playthrough. It also dictates your final rewards. Finishing the game on the path where Chloe lived unlocks the Blue Haired Girl achievement. Meanwhile, playing the timeline where she died in Arcadia Bay earns you the Dead Girl Walking achievement.

Life and Death Choices
Several characters can die in the game depending on your actions. Some are obvious and others require specific steps.
How to Save Vinh
Vinh is one of the hardest characters to save. He dies trying to destroy evidence (a skeleton) in the basement to protect Yasmin’s image. This causes a huge explosion.
- The Strategy: To save Vinh, Max must blame him for the Abraxas House Fire.
- Pro Tip: You can collect the needed evidence against him during the basement scene. When forced to choose, you must distract or attack the intruder. Attacking him helps you gather the clues.
How to Save Jeannette and Noelle
Many players accidentally let these two die. Their fates are linked.
- The Strategy: During class, you must encourage Jeannette to pursue a photography degree. Because of this, she will read the bulletin board near the observatory later. Max will then know her location.
- Saving Noelle: You must go back and give Noelle the gas mask. Instruct her to go after Jeannette. If you forget the mask, Noelle will die trying to save her.
How to Save Loretta
Loretta can easily die in the fire if you make the wrong moves. You must explicitly tell her to “stay put” and make sure she trusts you. Do not leave the building to look for tools before securing her, or you will get locked out.

Who Caused the Fire?
A major part of the game is preventing the Caledon University fire. If you want to find out who started the fire and who took the body from the basement, you have to investigate carefully.
- Investigating Owen: You might suspect Owen because of his aggressive expansion plans. But you have to decide who to accuse wisely. Yasmin confirms he didn’t know about the hidden body.
- Investigating Ren: Ren is the actual threat. If you want to successfully Life is Strange Reunion pressure Ren, you must win his dialogue encounter. This triggers Chloe’s famous Backtalk mechanic. Winning gives you the upper hand and unlocks the Sass Queen achievement.

Relationship Choices
Your relationships define the core of Life is Strange Reunion. Here are the best paths for the main characters.
Max and Chloe
The dynamic duo is back. You will face a very emotional choice to tell Chloe about her death or hold back the truth. Honesty is usually the best policy here.
- The Photo Choice: At the end, Moses sends Chloe a photo. You can either destroy it or give it to Max. Destroy it. Giving it to Max triggers a post-credit scene where Max seemingly betrays Chloe by rewinding time again, which ruins their happy ending.
Other Key Relationships
- Safi: You can help Safi heal during the In the Lighthouse chapter. Make sure you leave her feeling confident she can fix herself.
- Amanda: You can easily keep Amanda as a good friend, though a small percentage of players successfully pursued a romantic path with her.
Diamond’s Phone Call Easter Egg
Before you rush to see Chloe and Safi at the very end of the game, stop. Go outside and sit on the chair by the lake. Listen to the podcast playing there. Diamond will call you and mention her powers. This is a secret that hints at the future of the series.
