Stella in Terrible Lizards isn’t just the voice that helps Jordan get through Dalton’s Dinos. You never actually see her on screen, either. She’s a paleontologist who worked with Dalton and Elena Coolidge and she knows a fair amount about the creatures under the attraction. How much did she actually know before everything went wrong?
We’ll go over Stella’s past and her ties to the Coolidge family. Then we’ll cover what happens to her and who voices her in the game.

Who Is Stella in Terrible Lizards?
Stella’s a paleontologist and a longtime friend of Dalton and Elena Coolidge. The three of them worked together and built their careers studying fossils and Stella later got involved in the excavation work at Dalton’s Dinos.
She’s away from the site when Jordan shows up. Stella calls him on the phone first, then talks to him through a headset. She becomes his main guide as he moves through the empty attraction.
Even though Stella isn’t physically present for most of the game, her ties to the attraction and the missing staff still keep her right in the middle of the story.
Stella calls herself “Auntie Stella” when she asks Jordan to pass a message along to Dalton Jr., who everyone just calls DJ.
Stella’s Relationship With DJ: Is She Really His Aunt?
The game doesn’t actually say she’s his biological aunt. Since she’s been friends with Dalton and Elena for so long, auntie could just be a nickname because she’s so close to the family. Either way, she clearly cares about the kid and keeps pushing Jordan to help find him. She takes the whole “auntie” thing pretty seriously.
Stella and Dalton Coolidge’s 25-Year Friendship
Stella and Dalton go way back. In Dalton’s farewell letter, he says they’ve been best friends for 25 years. Things weren’t always rough between them. She worked with Dalton and Elena as a paleontologist and he planned for her to run the teams at the older dig sites while he pursued new discoveries.
However, Dalton’s growing obsession with success eventually hurt the friendship. Later, when Jordan finds out the Allosaurus killed Dalton, Stella takes it hard. Jordan hears her crying, then she tells him to keep looking for DJ.
What Does Stella Know About the Dinosaurs?
Stella already knew about the Brontosaurus under Dalton’s Dinos before Jordan ran into it. She studied the creature while it appeared dormant and figured it reacted to light. She told them to keep floodlights on nonstop so it would stay put. The creature wakes up anyway and her plan fails when the lights can’t keep it under control. The creatures sure didn’t get the memo.
Stella knows about the Brontosaurus, but Dennis being a real creature comes as news to her when Jordan tells her about it. Her idea didn’t pan out. Another employee’s note says the monsters could get used to the lighting instead of staying away from it.
She also looked into the mysterious black substance underground. In one of her journal entries, she wrote about taking samples from the deepest dig sites, but she never figured out exactly what the substance was.
Stella wasn’t totally wrong about the creatures and light. The ordinary floodlights she recommended didn’t work, but Project Pilgrim’s research shows that a specific spectrum of light can repel the substance.
Her research shows that people running Dalton’s Dinos already knew something dangerous was down there.
Stella’s Role in Helping Jordan
Stella initially asks Jordan to locate Dalton and figure out what happened to the missing staff. Once the creatures show up, she gives him directions over the headset. She tells him to turn on the floodlights when the Brontosaurus attacks and later she gives him a code for the elevator.
Stella also fills him in on the dig sites and the creatures she studied. When Jordan finds a route back to the surface, Stella asks him to stay and look for DJ. At first, he says no; he just wants to get out and call the cops.
Does Stella Survive in Terrible Lizards?
Yes, Stella survives Terrible Lizards. After Jordan gets DJ out of the underground facility, the two of them make it to the surface and meet back up with her. But she still loses Dalton, her friend of 25 years, and everything that happens at the attraction shows the consequences of the excavation work she took part in.

Who Voices Stella in Terrible Lizards?
Amanda Hufford voices Stella Banks in Terrible Lizards. You might also know her as the voice of Ragatha in The Amazing Digital Circus and Behemoth in Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
