Who is Lee in the Gothic 1 Remake?
Lee serves as the General of the Mercenaries over in the New Camp. He manages the defense of the camp and works closely with the Water Mages. He will actually give you a quest with a water mage, too.
Lee is a master fighter and can teach you Two-Handed Combat, Strength, and Dexterity. Getting attribute points from him costs 30 LP. The catch? He won’t teach you until you become a Mercenary
Gothic Remake Lee Location
As the commander of the Mercenaries, Lee usually hangs out in the cave quarters in the New Camp. However, if you reach there before Chapter 3, his guards will stop you. You must also be part of the New Camp. You can check out the New Camp location below. Here’s how to reach him once you are there:
Like always, go downhill at the entrance and take the first right. Hug the wall and keep going straight. Whenever you reach a split in the road, take the right path until you get to higher ground.
When you reach the higher ground, go right, then turn left. Just up ahead, there are two Mercenary guards at the cave entrance. You can check out the start and end of your path reaching him below:
Note: If Lee is not in his quarters, check the Dam. He walks there around 6–7 AM every morning.
Joining the Mercenaries Quest Walkthrough
If you want to become a Mercenary, you must convince Lee. To prove your worth, he tasks you to help a Water Mage called Myxir. This starts the Joining the Mercenaries quest. Lee Stats and Drop Items
Lee is an absolute tank on the standard Gothic difficulty. He is a level 26 with a massive 2,000 Health and 2,000 Mana. And on top of his 150 Strength and 150 Dexterity, he also wears super armor.
You must punch through his heavy gear to deal actual damage. His Mercenary’s Armor provides a flat 150 protection.

Lee Loot and Key Items
If you manage to beat Lee or loot him, you get his signature weapon: Lee’s Axe. This Two-Handed Axe is an absolute beast. It hits hard but has high requirements to actually wield it.

You can acquire a solid stash of supplies from Lee. His worn armor cannot be looted, but his inventory drops several valuable items, including the key to his personal chest.

Can you join the Mercenaries if you are a Fire Mage?
Yes, but it takes a few extra steps. Get officially exiled from the Old Camp first. Saturas will point you toward Lee after that.
What attributes does Lee teach?
He trains Dexterity, Strength, and Two-Handed Combat. Each attribute point costs exactly 1 learning point. You must officially join the camp before he agrees to teach you anything.
How do you fix the broken dialogue option with Lee in Chapter 4?
Speak to Fletcher, Thorus, and Saturas in that exact order. Reload a past save if you already messed up the sequence. Run straight to the Old Camp right after your escape with Milton, and make sure Thorus exiles you before you approach the Water Mages.
What happens if you defeat Lee in combat?
You can loot his signature Two-Handed Axe, his personal chest key, and a stash of supplies. His equipped armor never drops.
