Cyberpunk 2077 Losing My Religion Quest: How to Get Fenrir

Night City is full of dark and twisted encounters, and the Cyberpunk 2077 Losing My Religion Quest (also recorded in your journal under the name Sacrum Profanum) is a perfect example of this.

This hidden quest tasks V with rescuing a captive monk from the sadistic Maelstrom gang. Here is the complete walkthrough, consequences and rewards for this Watson quest.

How to Unlock Cyberpunk 2077 Losing My Religion Quest

You can trigger this quest relatively early in your playthrough. It becomes available after you complete the main story mission The Ride.

To begin, head to the docks area in the Northside district of Watson. You will come across a Bhikkhu monk kneeling on the ground in visible distress. If you speak to him, he explains that Maelstrom gangoons kidnapped his brother to forcibly install implants into him.

Because their religion (pratimoksha) strictly forbids cyber-modifications, the gang thought it would be a hilarious joke to violate their bodies.

Crucial Warning: Once you speak to the first monk and accept the job, you must proceed to the hideout immediately. If V leaves the general vicinity to do other activities, the mission will automatically fail.

The monk makes one specific request: save his brother without killing any of the Maelstrom gang members. Honoring this request requires a careful, non-lethal approach. There are five enemies guarding the warehouse and the easiest way to spare them is through stealth.

  1. Take the Container Route: Do not walk through the main entrance, as there is a guard keeping watch. Instead, jump up onto the shipping containers located outside the entryway. From here, you can sneak onto an elevated upstairs walkway completely undetected.
  2. Work Back to Front: Sneak your way to the very back of the warehouse where the captive monk is being held. It is much easier to isolate and perform non-lethal takedowns on the gangoons if you start from the back of the room and work your way forward toward the entrance.
  3. Non-Lethal Combat Backup: If your stealth is broken, you can still fulfill the pacifist requirement. Use weapons equipped with non-lethal mods, or use Smart Weapons to carefully target the enemies’ arms and legs to incapacitate them without dealing a fatal blow.

Choices and Consequences

The conclusion of the quest changes depending entirely on whether you used lethal or non-lethal force against Maelstrom.

  • If you spare the gang: The rescued monk will thank you warmly for respecting their peaceful ways and keeping the rescue bloodless.
  • If you kill the gang: The mission will still be marked as completed, but both the rescued monk and Johnny Silverhand will have uniquely altered dialogue reacting to your lethal choices.

Fortunately, your tangible rewards remain exactly the same.

Choices and Consequences

Quest Rewards and the Iconic Fenrir

Once the room is clear and you have finished speaking with the rescued brother, the quest wraps up. You will instantly be rewarded with:

  • 431 XP
  • 970 Street Cred

Before you exit the warehouse, make sure to search the immediate area. Sitting directly on a table next to where the captive monk was held is Fenrir, an incredibly strong Iconic Power SMG. It is highly recommended that you grab it before leaving, as it is one of the most reliable early-game weapons you can acquire.
