There are four Bamboo Strikes that you can interact with in the Yotei Grasslands region of Ghost of Yotei. Father’s Bamboo Strike
The very first bamboo strike location is right where Atsu’s home is, which is north of Lake Shikotsu. The Bamboo Strike is located near the edge of the cliff, that honestly has a striking view.
1st button combo: X – X – L1
2nd button combo: X – X – L1 – X – X
3rd button combo: X – X – L1 – X – X – L1 – X
At the end of the 3rd part of the Father’s Bamboo Strike, you can double tap the circle button to cut the flying piece in half.
Hanbei’s Bamboo Strike
You do this Bamboo Strike during the Way of Dual Katana mission. One thing that makes this Bamboo Strike special is the fact that it has three different sets of button combinations for this mission. Even if you can’t perform the first and second button combo, the game automatically counts them as a pass. However, it’s necessary to do the last button combo in the mission.
First set of button combinations:
1st button Combo: L1 – L3 – Up
2nd button Combo: L1 – L3 – Up – Down – Right
3rd button Combo: L1 – L3 – Up – Down – Right – L3 – Up
Second set of button combinations:
1st button Combo: L1 – Left – Down
2nd button Combo: L1 – Left – Down – Right – Up
3rd button Combo: L1 – Left – Down – Right – Up – L1 – R3
Third set of button combinations:
1st button Combo: Up – Left – Down
2nd button Combo: Up – Left – Down – Right – Up
3rd button Combo: Up – Left – Down – Right – Up – Left – Down
Yotei River Bamboo Strike
It’s located south of Lake Josan and north of the Yotei River. In the open land, there’s a torn banner next to this Bamboo Strike.
1st button Combo: Triangle – Triangle – L1
After performing the first button combo, double tap the square button to cut the flying piece in half.
2nd button Combo: Triangle – Triangle – L1 – L1 – Triangle
3rd button Combo: Triangle – Triangle – L1 – L1 – Triangle – Triangle – Circle
Nupur River Bamboo Strike
The best way to find the Nupur River Bamboo Strike is to get there from the direction of Crow’s Nest Watchtower. From there, just head downhill.
You can see smoke rising from trees afar, just go there. Just like in the picture when the prompt appears, crawl under to find it.
There, you will encounter a frustrated man who is unable to cut through the bamboo. Talk with him so that you can interact with the Bamboo Strike and be done with it.

2nd button Combo: Square – Circle – Square – L1 – L1
3rd button Combo: Square – Circle – Square – L1 – L1 – Square – Circle
