Cyberpunk 2077 Best Smart Weapons

Cyberpunk 2077 features a huge variety of futuristic weapons, ranging from brutal melee tools to powerful Assault Rifles and deadly Sniper Rifles. Among the most unique are Smart weapons.

Smart weapons use advanced targeting systems that automatically lock onto enemies. This allows shots to track targets without manual aiming. To fully utilize them, players need Smart Link Cyberware implants, but beyond that, these weapons offer major advantages with very few downsides.

With the right setup, some of the best Smart weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 can become incredibly powerful tools for dominating combat in Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077 Best Smart Weapons

Here is the complete list of Cyberpunk 2077 best smart weapons:

Best Smart Pistols

Genjiroh

The Genjiroh is a versatile Smart Pistol that features both burst-fire and full-auto firing modes. While the full-auto option only works when firing from the hip, the weapon’s fast one-second lock-on speed and +85% headshot damage multiplier still make it highly effective.

Genjiroh performs best in burst-fire mode. It fires four rounds per burst with each shot carrying a 20% chance to inflict Shock. Its unique passive also increases magazine size and projectile speed.

Kappa X-MOD2

The Kappa x-MOD2 is a customizable variant of the Crimestopper Smart Pistol. Although its base stats are not significantly betterand in some cases slightly worse, the weapon’s real strength comes from its mod support.

Unlike most Smart weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, the Kappa x-MOD2 can equip powerful Tier 5 mods. This flexibility makes it far more versatile than many Iconic weapons that rely on a single gimmick.

Skippy

The Skippy was once considered one of the best Smart pistols in Cyberpunk 2077, but Update 2.0 significantly reduced its effectiveness.

Although players can keep Skippy after its questline, the AI loses its unique targeting personality and special firing mode. While it still performs slightly better than a standard Yukimura, many players now view Skippy more as a collectible for V’s stash wall than a top-tier combat weapon.

Best Smart Shotguns

Rostović DB-4 Palica

The Rostović DB-4 Palica is a Smart version of the DB-4 Igla that delivers extremely high damage per shot, even without being an Iconic weapon.

Its intrinsic modifier can further increase damage output at the cost of accuracy, giving it strong close-range potential. However, compared to the Ba Xing Chong, the Palica falls behind in most stat categories, including headshot damage multiplier and overall versatility.

Ba Xing Chong

The Ba Xing Chong is one of the most destructive Smart weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, capable of obliterating standard enemies with a single shot. While its handling and fire rate are poor, the weapon compensates with massive damage and Smart-targeting projectiles that are difficult to miss.

Its unique passive turns the shotgun into a mini rocket launcher. The Ba Xing Chong also grants bonus reload speed and Burn chance when V’s health is low. Its only major drawback is reduced movement speed and jump height while equipped, though the raw firepower easily makes up for it.

Best Smart SMGs

Pizdets

Exclusive to Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Pizdets is obtained during the “Spy in the Jungle” gig by looting Boris Ribakov. Despite its smaller magazine and slower lock-on time compared to the Warden, it stands out thanks to its integrated silencer, making it perfect for stealth gameplay. Continuous fire also increases its Critical Chance.

Yinglong

Previously considered the king of Smart weapons, Yinglong can be crafted after defeating Denzel Cryer during the “Living the Big Life” Organized Crime activity. Based on the G-58 Dian, it deals Electrical damage and has a chance to trigger EMP blasts that damage and disable nearby enemies. Its high fire rate makes these EMP effects trigger frequently.

Prototype: Shingen Mark V

Based on the Arasaka Shingen, the Prototype: Shingen Mark V fires explosive rounds with a chance to inflict Burn. Although its burst-fire mode can feel limiting, it can simultaneously lock onto three enemies while aiming. Its Burn effect also synergizes with the Contagion quickhack. This allows players to trigger explosions without relying on grenades or Overheat.

Chesapeake

Chesapeake was tied to an Amazon Prime Gaming reward and is based on the Warden. This Barghest-themed weapon boosts movement speed after kills and dismemberments, stacking up to 20%. It also grants bonus damage based on movement speed alongside extra Armor Penetration.

Best Smart Assault Rifles

Hercules 3AX

Found during the “Roads to Redemption” gig in Dogtown’s stadium, the Hercules 3AX is a unique Militech prototype from Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Its built-in Smart scope allows players to use Smart targeting without needing Smart Link Cyberware.

When fired from the hip, the weapon launches explosive grenade-like rounds, while aiming enables head and weak-point targeting. It can also apply Poison and defeated enemies may explode into toxic chemical clouds that leave damaging acid pools behind.

Divided We Stand

Obtained during the “Stadium Love” side job, Divided We Stand is an upgraded D5 Sidewinder that can split its damage across up to five enemies simultaneously. The weapon also gives defeated enemies a chance to explode and poison nearby targets.

Although the Hercules 3AX is generally considered the stronger option, Divided We Stand remains the only Iconic Smart Assault Rifle available to players without the Phantom Liberty expansion.

Best Smart Sniper Rifle

Yasha

The Yasha is essentially the best Iconic Smart sniper rifle in Cyberpunk 2077 by default. Based on the Ashura, it supports two weapon mods despite being an Iconic weapon, giving it more customization options than most Smart guns.

Its downside is a reduced effective range, and many sniper-focused mods provide limited value. Players often use Stabilizer or Equalizer mods instead, especially since Equalizer boosts damage against skull-marked enemies.
