Cyberpunk 2077 Money For Nothing Quest

Money for Nothing is one of Cyberpunk 2077’s more straightforward yet atmospheric “Gigs,” categorized as a Search and Recover mission. While the title might evoke the classic Dire Straits anthem, the reality for V is much more grounded: a simple data retrieval job that quickly highlights the cold, transactional nature of the dark future.

In this guide, we will provide you with a complete walkthrough for Cyberpunk 2077 Money For Nothing Quest and its prerequisite quest, Spy in the Jungle.

How to Enable the Money for Nothing Quest?

The Money for Nothing side job in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty becomes available after completing the gig “Spy in the Jungle.” To unlock it, you must spare Katya during that mission and obtain the coordinates to her hidden stash, which will trigger the quest.

Spy in the Jungle Quest Walkthrough

The “Spy in the Jungle” gig in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty becomes available after completing “The Damned.” Head to the marker southwest of Longshore Stacks to trigger a call from Mr. Hands. He briefs you on a missing man named Mark Bana, wanted by Brazilian intelligence agents.

Go to the Paradise Hotel and enter room 203. Speak with the agents to learn that Bana’s biomonitor was last detected in Organitopia. In Terra Cognita, clear out the scavs at the entrance and force open the shutters (Body 3 required) to access the underground facility.

After authorizing entry, push through enemies and traps in the atrium. Then follow the path through the arcade and museum areas while Bana contacts you.

As you approach his location, you will be ambushed by Boris Ribakov, a fast-moving boss who uses smoke and summons drones mid-fight. Defeat him to claim his iconic SMG. Then continue upstairs to find a hidden room, where you discover Katya Karelina instead of Bana.

Here, you face a key choice:

  • Kill Katya and take the biomonitor
  • Spare her, take the biomonitor and receive stash coordinates (this unlocks Money for Nothing)

On your way out, you will get another decision:

  • Deliver the biomonitor to the drop point for $4,000
  • Take it directly to Ana for $6,000, upsetting Steven Santos

Whichever path you choose, Mr. Hands will follow up and complete the gig.

Cyberpunk 2077 Money For Nothing Quest Guide

As I mentioned earlier, the Money for Nothing side job in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty becomes available after completing “Spy in the Jungle.” To unlock it, you must spare Katya during that gig and receive the coordinates to her stash.

Once the job begins, fast travel to Kress Street and head to the marked location. The stash is hidden in a small area. Look for a green dumpster and push it aside (requires Body 3). This will reveal a hatch on the ground. There is the hidden stash of Katya.
