Moon Sweepers Flags: How to Find, Untangle & Earn $100

Moon Sweepers flags give you another way to earn cash while exploring the lunar surface. Approach a national flag and complete its untangling interaction to claim the reward. It pays $100, and the Moon Map tracks your flag progress separately from the ground you’ve cleaned.
It’s a welcome excuse to put the broom down for a moment. Even on the Moon, somebody has to straighten the flags.

Where to Find Flags in Moon Sweepers
In total, there are 12 stations on the surface of the Moon. When you explore them, try to find as many flags as you can. Also, there are 26 surveying sites, each of which gives you $250.

Watch for planted flagpoles while traveling across the lunar surface. I would check for them during an exploration trip instead of buying equipment solely for a flag hunt.
If you already have a vehicle, use the journey to look around and stop when you spot a flag.

I couldn’t verify a complete list of flag locations or a universal route from the starting station for public patch 1.0.4. Keeping a waypoint log of your own searches is a practical way to organize future trips. By the way, I have marked some locations where you may find flags there, based on my experience and players’ reports.
Locations of Moon Sweepers Flags
- Survey site beyond the mountains of the north Station
- Way to East and West Stations
Upon further investigation, I will add more items to this list. Stay tuned!
Use Moon Map for Flags
Be careful when reading the Moon Map. Orange areas show ground that hasn’t been cleaned. They don’t prove that you’ve never visited an area or that its flags are still waiting to be untangled.
How to Untangle Flags in Moon Sweepers
Walk up to a flag until its interaction prompt appears. Follow the on-screen untangle prompt (E on the keyboard), and wait for the progress bar to finish before moving on. Sweeping around the pole or simply passing it doesn’t complete that interaction.

Completing the action brings up the country name and reward. I went to the east and west stations and found some flags on the way. Check the amount displayed in your own game before planning purchases around flag money.
If you’re still getting started with the main cleaning loop, my Moon Sweepers guide covers your first dust deliveries and early upgrades.
How Many Flags Are in Moon Sweepers
The available flag counters disagree. One collection popup shows a total of 195 flags, while a Moon Map screenshot from one player displays Flags untangled: 2 of 196. I could not find any reason for this discrepancy.

Check the Flags untangled counter in your own game to follow your progress. Keep the Sites surveyed counter separate, too: surveying a lunar site is a different exploration objective from untangling a flag. I also couldn’t verify a special reward or achievement for completing the entire flag collection. The confirmed incentive is the cash shown for an individual flag interaction.
Using the Latest Update for Flag Hunting
Public patch 1.0.4, released October 25, adds navigation tools that can help you organize a search. Night Vision Goggles cost $350, and N cycles between the helmet lamp, goggles, and off.
Better visibility gives you a practical reason to consider them if you often explore in darkness.
The Moon Map now supports right-click actions for waypoints, focus, and teleportation. Use waypoints to plan where you will search next. The Teleport Panel also lets you travel between stations you have already discovered.
These features help with visibility and travel, but the patch notes do not say they reveal flag locations. They also do not document a new flag payout or resolve the conflicting totals. For now, I would collect flags along an existing route and check each reward before committing to a longer hunt
