Far Far West Haunted Candles: How to Get and Use Them

In Far Far West’s Halloween event, collect Feathers (shoot crows from statues), Pumpkins (kill the boss), and Skulls (destroy flying ones at cemeteries) on marked contracts, then brew them at the lobby cauldron behind the train, get the Haunted Candles and buy Halloween skins, the Ghost mount skin, titles and emotes. Farm on Easy with mobility loadouts for speed.

How to Get Haunted Candles

You don’t find candles lying around. You collect three temporary ingredients during contracts that have Halloween objectives (they’re clearly marked on the mission select screen), then bring them back to town and throw them in a big pot.

The three ingredients and how to grab them:

  • Feathers: Find a crow statue, shoot the crow that flies off it.
  • Pumpkins: Kill the Halloween Boss (Pumpkin Lord).
  • Skulls (sometimes called Vulture Skulls): Find a haunted cemetery and blast the flying skulls that pop out of the ground. Look for the blue lights on the floor, that’s your tell.

Each Halloween-marked contract usually offers up to two of the three resources. Activate the lighthouse early so the map lights up and shows you exactly where they are. As I know, 3 Pumpkins, 6 Feathers and 7 Skulls are the typical full-clear amounts (feathers can drop a little lower if you miss one).

Once you’ve extracted, head to the lobby.

Where to Perform the Ritual

Walk behind the train in the lobby. There’s a big cauldron sitting there with three little shelves next to it for the ingredients. Dump the right combination in, perform the ritual and out pop Haunted Candles.

A common working recipe floating around is 2 Pumpkins + 3 Feathers + 4 Skulls for 130 Candles per brew. You’ll need roughly 2,500–3,000 Candles to buy every cosmetic, so plan on a solid chunk of missions if you’re going for the full set.

Best Way to Farm Them Fast

Want to knock this out without wasting your whole week? Here’s the efficient route a lot of players are using:

  • Play on Easy. Same ingredient drops and the Pumpkin Lord is a lot less dramatic.
  • Prefer flatter maps (Far West is great) unless you specifically need skulls (then the jungle-style maps work).
  • Loadout priorities: Sheriff Stars with Jump Star plus Scavenger Star if you have them (extra jumps and 30% move speed while holding them is massive). Impulse Grenade works as a budget alternative.
  • Player upgrades: spell cooldown, speed, high jump, a little low gravity.
  • Spells: Boing (Electric) and Bridge (Frost) for mobility. Higher-level players can swap in Blizzard or Wisp if they want more gathering help.
  • Primary weapon: whatever feels good, shotgun is a popular just delete things choice.

First thing every run: lighthouse. Light the map, grab the nearby ingredients, start any objectives that can tick in the background (drill on low setting is perfect), then clean up the rest. You can finish a focused Easy run in 5–10 minutes. If an ingredient is near the extraction platform, grab it while you wait for the train, free efficiency.

You still have to complete and extract the mission. Dying doesn’t skip the process.

What Haunted Candles Buy

Spend them in the event shop on:

  • Character skins: Sawbones, Scarecrow, Pumpkin Jack
  • Mount skin: Ghost
  • Titles: Dies First, Scarecrow, Bounty Haunter, Legend of the Fear Fear West
  • Emotes: Spooked, Ritual

That’s the full limited set. Everything you unlock stays forever.

What Happens When the Event Ends (November 12)

Any leftover Feathers, Pumpkins, and Skulls get deleted. Unspent Haunted Candles convert to 2 souls for each candle.

Cosmetics you missed become available for Gold, at a much higher price (around 4 times more than normal for the category).

Moral of the story: brew early, spend early. The event runs from October 22 to November 12, so you’ve still got time, but the grind is real if you want the full set without paying the post-event Gold tax.
