Poisonous Trail Map

RDR2: The Poisonous Trail Map 1 Treasure Location

The Poisonous Trail treasure map doesn’t inherently follow how the Jack Hall gang treasure or High Stakes treasure hunt in RDR2 starts. Unlike those treasure hunts, you start the Poisonous Trail treasure map by finding it in the wilderness. Nobody hands the first map to you on a silver platter.

Now that you know what the fuss is all about, let’s find the Poisonous Trail Map 1 treasure location.

The Poisonous Trail Map 1 Treasure Location

To start the Poisonous Trail treasure hunt, you should travel all the way to the far north of the map. The location you should be heading for is Cairn Lodge, which is southeast of Cairn Lake. It’s right above the letter M of AMBARINO on the map, west of the Wapiti Indian Reservation.

Pro tip: I highly recommend that you store a cold-weather outfit on your horse for this. Cairn Lake is freezing cold, and without proper protection, Arthur’s health core drains super quickly.

In the lodge, under the bed in a lockbox, you can find the first Poisonous Trail treasure map, with which your long and treacherous hunt starts.

Time to head to Face Rock, north of Rhodes, which is in the southeastern part of the game map. The easiest way to spot Face Rock is to look at the map. Between the letters R and L of SCARLETT, that’s where you should be.

Look for a rock formation that looks like a human face, especially when viewed from the side.

There’s a burned-out tree nearby that you should interact with. It gives you the Poisonous Trail Map 2.

Jason Jenkins

Jason’s journey of countless memorable video game stories began when he was only 8 years old. Most of the time, he would play Mortal Kombat 4 on his PC after school. When night fell, it was time for the original Resident Evil 3 to scare the living daylights out of him. But he wouldn’t trade those good old days for anything. Jason is a minimalist at heart and that translates into his guide writing as well. He likes to break down gameplay mechanics into simpler parts so that the audience can find what they’re looking for in no time.
