TBH Task Bar Hero Build Guide (2026): Tier List & Best Teams

Are you wondering about what actually is the best Task Bar Hero Build? Don’t worry, I guide you about it with my own experience and what the community agrees about. I explain how to build your team, what are the best heroes, best hero builds and so on. I love those walking creatures below my screen and I want them fight well! How about you?
The Text:
Start with the Knight

When first start, you’ll only have one hero slot. I’d say pick the Knight in your starting build. Seriously. He’s the best free starting hero because he’s a big tank that can take a beating and still deal good damage.
Build Your Team & Runes Tree
To have a real Task Bar Hero build, your first goal is to get three heroes on the battlefield. You unlock extra Hero Slots in the Runes Tree. Your first hero will hit level 3 very quickly. This unlocks the Runes menu and that’s what we want.

You need gold to buy Rune upgrades. To get your second hero slot, follow this path inside the Runes Tree:
- Get Rune of War (100g).
- Then get Rune of Growth (200g).
- This unlocks Rune of Command, which gives you the second slot.
The third slot is a bigger grind, it’s worth it anyway. Keep going down the tree from Rune of Expansion to finally get the 150,000 gold Rune of Command.
TBH Heroes Tier List
Don’t get lost in a million options. Most heroes are free or have a free way to get them. Here’s who to focus on:
| Hero’s Name | Tier | Cost | Explanation |
| Knight | S | Free | Your main tank. Put him in the front. He’s an absolute rock. |
| Ranger | B | Free | A machine-gun of an archer. She’s perfect for fast farming and consistent damage |
| Priest | A+ | Free DLC | THE most important hero. She heals and gives a huge attack buff. You need her. Just claim her for free on Steam. |
| Hunter | S | Paid DLC | The best pure damage dealer if you want to spend a little cash. Insane area-of-effect and boss-killing power. |
| Sorcerer | A | Free | Good for area-of-effect magic damage. A solid, free magic-user. |
The Best Team Builds
Pick one of these and you’ll cruise through the game.
The Best 3-Hero Build
This is the team that works for almost everything and everyone, trust me and combine like this:
Knight (Tank) + Ranger (Damage) + Priest (Healer/Support)
Why do I like this? The Knight soaks up all the damage. The Ranger kills everything fast. The Priest keeps them both alive and buffs their attack. It’s simple and it wins.
The Best 2-Hero Build
You’ll have two slots for a while. Use this combo until you get your third.

Team: Ranger and Priest. Even with just these two, you can clear stages and farm gold fast. It’s an amazing early farming duo.
The Best 3-Hero Build (If You Buy DLC)
If you are willing to spend a few dollars to get the Hunter class, team up the Knight with Priest and Hunter.

Yes. There are the same tank and healer as before, but you swap the Ranger for the Hunter, who has insane explosive area damage and can freeze bosses.
Hero Skill & Stat Priorities
Knowing the team is only half the battle. You need to invest skill points and gear stats effectively to make your heroes shine.
| Hero | Essential Skills | Stat Priority |
| Priest | Power Blessing (Max Level): This is essential for the +90% attack buff. Then Sanctuary for massive heals. | Max HP: Cooldown Reduction |
| Knight | Divine Shield Domain for tanking and Indomitable Will for defense. | HP Regeneration → Armor → Max HP |
| Ranger | Rapid Fire for core single-target damage. Avoid skills that split your damage across multiple enemies. | Attack Speed → Critical Chance → Critical Damage. |
| Sorcerer | Blizzard can freeze enemies, providing incredible crowd control. | Ability Power → Cooldown Reduction → Attack Damage |
TBH Best Builds: All You Need
Start with the Knight, grab the free Priest DLC, and build the lovely Knight/Ranger/Priest team. That combo will carry you through most of the game without spending a dime. Focus on unlocking your hero slots and maximizing the Priest’s Power Blessing.
You’ll be crushing bosses and making a little Steam cash on the side. Now go build your taskbar heroes and let them do the work while you actually get stuff done (I love when they play by themselves on the bottom, feels like they’re alive).
FAQs
Is it pay-to-win?
No. Free players can reach the endgame, get the best gear, and use every system just fine.
Do I need the DLC?
Absolutely not. The best core team in the game (Knight, Ranger, Priest) is completely free.
What’s the free DLC?
The Priest is technically a “DLC”, but it’s free. Just go into the game store and claim her.
Is Task Bar Hero pay-to-win?
Not at all. The game is free, and the best all-around team (Knight, Priest, Ranger) uses heroes you can get for free. The DLC heroes like Hunter offer more power, but they are not required to complete the game.
What are the best stats to focus on for gear?
For your tank (Knight), focus on HP Regeneration, Armor, and Max HP. For your damage dealers (Hunter/Ranger/Sorcerer), focus on Attack Damage, Critical Chance, and Attack Speed
