Sovereign Tower Victoria Guide: How to Recruit Her

Victoria is one of the strongest late-game knights we can get, but Sovereign Tower does not hand her to you the normal way.

How to recruit her? The point is that She never shows up in a regular candidacy audience. If you want Victoria on your Round Table rather than dead, follow her Enberg questline instead of taking one of the confrontation routes that kills her. That’s the path through the Enberg assassination storyline in Act III.

There’s also a separate confrontation called Victoria’s Ambush in Mana Strala. That one needs a party of four knights. If you win it, Victoria dies and you can walk away with Victoria’s Sword plus a Demon Heart. After that, Gothild from the Virgo Guard opens up as a candidate. Just know this is the kill route, not the recruit-her-alive route.

Want to know more about her? Just continue reading.

Basics You Should Know About Her

Victoria is a high-stat Half-Demon knight from the city of Enberg. The in-game description calls her the great and formidable knight.

Victoria is renowned throughout the kingdom for her unmatched talent and ruthless nature. Some ballads even call her invincible so, best not to make her an enemy. Oh, and she’s not romanceable.

She starts at level 13 with 7 armor. Her base stats are 13 STR / 13 AGI / 9 CHA / 13 MAG / 10 WIT / 9 LCK. That’s a fixed total of 67, the highest fixed starting total in the game. Chester’s random rolls are the only thing that can sometimes beat it.

She comes with a locked relic: Victoria’s Sword. You cannot change it. The sword gives +5 STR / +4 AGI / +2 CHA / +1 MAG / 0 WIT / −3 LCK. After applying Victoria’s Sword and the game’s 15-point stat cap, her effective stats are 15 STR / 15 AGI / 11 CHA / 14 MAG / 10 WIT / 6 LCK.

Victoria’s Traits & How They Work

Victoria’s known attributes are:

  • Sadistic: score bonus when the quest involves killing humans. Also +1 on Intimidation and −1 on Help.
  • Half-Demon: +1 on Magic Involved quests.
  • Victoria’s Sword: locked relic, cannot be swapped.

Her hidden attributes:

  • Touchy: affinity losses during quest assignment are doubled. Alwena’s Intendant rumors can reveal this.
  • Half-Demon: She is a demon inside. You see this part of her several times.

Preferences and Affinity

Affinity runs on the normal −10 to +10 scale, and Victoria’s resignation threshold is −7. Her preferences are:

  • Likes (+1.33 affinity): Assassination
  • Dislikes (−0.75 affinity): Crowd
  • Hidden dislike: Diplomacy
  • Favorite meals (+1.5 affinity + 0.5 quest score): Croque-Monsieur, Préfou

Important distinction: quest preferences only move her affinity. Sadistic is a separate score bonus. So if you send her on Assassination missions she likes you more. If those same missions involve killing humans, Sadistic also boosts her performance. Keep the two systems straight.

How You Should Actually Use Her

Victoria is built for late-game ruthless work:

  • Assassination quests (affinity gain)
  • Quests involving killing humans (Sadistic score bonus)
  • Intimidation quests (Sadistic +1)
  • Magic Involved quests (Half-Demon +1)

Assassination is the ideal assignment when you want to raise Victoria’s affinity, giving her +1.33 each time. Her Sadistic and Half-Demon attributes separately make her stronger on quests involving killing humans, Intimidation or Magic Involved conditions.

Keep her off Crowd and Diplomacy whenever possible. She dislikes both, and her hidden Touchy attribute doubles affinity losses during quest assignment.

In Sovereign Tower, characters have connections and understanding these connections is important. It helps with better progression. Victoria mostly connects with:

  • Gothild: Becomes available after you resolve (and kill) Victoria in the Ambush. Gothild is one of the knights.
  • Ursula: Has a corruption arc tied to repeated deaths. Late game, Victoria may somehow convince Ursula to go with her. If this happens in your playthrough, you have three choices. Attack Victoria, Duel with her or try to rescue Ursula.

Victoria in Sovereign Tower

This strong girl is one of my favorite knights in the game. Victoria is high-risk, high-reward. She rewards pure efficiency on Assassination and lethal missions and punishes you hard for sending her on things she hates.

Follow the Enberg assassination line if you want her alive. Take the Ambush if you want Gothild and the Sword instead. Either way, once you have her, keep her on the jobs she was built for. That’s it. This was a Sovereign Tower guide I wrote to help you understand Victoria better. Hope it helps.
