Slay the Spire 2 Battleworn Dummy Guide

The Battleworn Dummy is a unique event in Act 3: Glory of Slay the Spire 2. It challenges you to defeat a dummy in three turns in exchange for some valuable rewards. It warns you that if you can’t do this in three turns, you’ll face lethal humiliation. Don’t worry, you won’t lose your run at all if you fail the task.
But what setting should you choose to get the best out of this event and why? With that said, let’s figure it out.

Battleworn Dummy Event Explained
Unlike other events like Fake Merchant or The Trial, here the focus is damage. In the Battleworn Dummy event description, it warns you, “You have 3 turns to defeat me! Choose a setting or face lethal humiliation.”

The description says it best. You have three turns to defeat the dummy, or you’re going to have to face lethal humiliation. Here are the three options:
- Setting 1: Fight a 75 HP dummy. Procure 1 random Potion.
- Setting 2: Fight a 150 HP dummy. Upgrade 2 random cards.
- Setting 3: Fight a 300 HP dummy. Obtain a random Relic.
Needless to say, you have exactly three turns to inflict enough damage to win the fight. It’s all in all a pure damage test. That means no long-term scaling matters. Just focus on immediate burst damage to quickly win the fight.
What Is Lethal Humiliation in Slay the Spire 2?
Perhaps what you really want to know is what happens if you fail to defeat the dummy in three turns? NOTHING. You won’t lose your run. Lethal humiliation is just there to mock you when you fail the test.
It’s just risk vs. reward plus zero punishment. The risk is that you’ll lose an opportunity to earn a reward, provided you fail to defeat the dummy in three turns.
What Setting Should You Choose?
Right off the bat, just ignore the first setting, which gives you a random potion. It’s not worth it at all. For the second setting, two of your cards will be upgraded at random. But you’re going to have to fight a 150 HP dummy.

The third setting, though, you should only choose this option if you have a really strong deck. Even then, it’s not always reliable. To fight a 300 HP dummy and get a random relic? Nah, I’ll pass.
I’d say the most logical choice of them all is the second option. You know the outcome. It’ll randomly upgrade two of your cards, which is always a plus. But you don’t know what relic you’re going to get in the third option while you have to beat a 300 HP dummy in three turns, which is a lot to ask for.
