Probably Stolen Radioactive Waste: How to Get Rid of It

Probably Stolen radioactive waste looks like free money until you realize you’ve just volunteered your shop as a makeshift nuclear storage unit. The Corporate Waste Manager pays a tidy 100 Credits per barrel, but there’s a catch: nobody wants to buy the glowing barrels, and your regular Trash Can treats them like radioactive hot potatoes.

Fortunately, you can dump the stuff at the Dumping Ground. There’s just one mildly annoying surprise involving Georgio that you’ll want to know about before you haul all five barrels across town.

Get Rid of Radioactive Waste in Probably Stolen

The most reliable way to dispose of radioactive waste is to leave it at the Dumping Ground during a nighttime scavenging trip.

Here’s the plan:

  1. Pack one radioactive waste barrel into a Light Backpack or Heavy Backpack. Leave the rest of the glowing collection at your shop for now.
  2. Close up shop for the night and choose the Dumping Ground as your scavenging destination.
  3. Once you arrive, move the barrel from your backpack onto the GROUND inventory. Make sure it’s no longer hitching a ride with you.
  4. Leave the location and confirm that yes, you really do want to abandon the items on the ground.
  5. Wait for Georgio’s return event. The helpful scavenger can bring the discarded barrel back to your shop, but this only happens once.
  6. On a later night, head back to the Dumping Ground and dump the returned barrel along with whatever remaining waste you can carry.

Once Georgio’s one-time helpful return is out of the way, you can keep dumping barrels without him playing fetch.

My advice? Start with a single barrel. There’s no wisdom in hauling five barrels across the map only for your friendly neighborhood scavenger to return the entire radioactive collection like a very radioactive lost-and-found.

Why Georgio Brings Your Radioactive Waste Back

If you’ve already dumped radioactive waste and found it sitting back at your shop, you haven’t broken the game, you’ve just met Georgio’s helpful side.

Georgio notices the barrels you left at the Dumping Ground and assumes you’ve simply forgotten your belongings. Being the kind-hearted scavenger he is, he brings them home.

The important detail is that Georgio’s radioactive waste return happens only once per run. He can return every barrel you’ve discarded before that encounter, not just one.

That’s why dumping a single barrel first is the smarter play. Let Georgio complete his one-time return, finish the event, then dispose of the remaining barrels on later trips without the surprise home delivery.

Can You Throw Radioactive Waste in the Trash?

Radioactive waste can be placed in the Trash Can, but the regular cleaning service won’t remove it. Customers won’t buy it, and insurance politely declines the opportunity to deal with it.

There is, however, a workaround involving empty containers:

  • Find an empty Supply Crate or Security Crate;
  • Put the radioactive waste barrel inside the crate;
  • Throw the entire container into your shop’s Trash Can;
  • Let the cleaning service haul the whole thing away.

This is more of a clever trick than an official disposal method. It may depend on the game version and could get patched, so the Dumping Ground remains the safer, more reliable option. You’ll also lose the crate if the trick works, because nothing in life is truly free, especially when radiation is involved.

Should You Accept the Radioactive Waste Deal?

The Corporate Waste Manager offers 100 Credits per barrel, with choices of one, three, or five barrels. Taking all five nets you 500 Credits.

That’s good early-game money for accepting a few glowing barrels. But the real cost shows up later, when you need space for the waste and have to schedule nighttime trips to get rid of it.

Nighttime scavenging also delays your shop’s opening the next day, costing you one customer. If you already planned a Dumping Ground run, bringing a barrel along makes the deal feel less like unpaid hazardous-waste duty.

Otherwise, consider accepting fewer barrels if your inventory is already crowded. You can still pocket some quick Credits without turning the next several nights into your personal radioactive waste disposal service.
