Bullet Ballet in Cyberpunk 2077 Perk Explained

Bullet Ballet is a Body Perk in Cyberpunk 2077 built around one specific idea, which is to keep your shots tight while you’re moving. It sits in the shotguns/ LMGs/ HMGs branch of the body tree, and once you unlock it, it quietly reshapes how aggressive, mobile heavy-weapon builds play.

What Is Bullet Ballet in Cyberpunk 2077?
Bullet Ballet is a one-rank perk that reduces bullet spread by 25% while you’re moving. It’s gated behind 9 points in Body and sits directly beneath Die! Die! Die! in the perk tree.
| Detail | Bullet Ballet |
|---|---|
| Attribute | Body |
| Body requirement | 9 |
| Tier | Tier 2 / Pro |
| Perk levels | 1 |
| Prerequisite | Die! Die! Die! (fully unlocked) |
| Weapons affected | Shotguns, LMGs, HMGs |
| Effect | -25% bullet spread while moving |
| Introduced | Update 2.0 |
It really caught my attention how narrow this perk is. It doesn’t touch things like damage or recoil, just bullet spread, and only while you’re actually moving.
How to Unlock Bullet Ballet
Getting to Bullet Ballet takes a bit more than just hitting Body 9. after that, you need to unlock Die! Die! Die! (both ranks), and then you can get your hands on Bullet Ballet.
You’ll need to fully unlock Die! Die! Die! first, then spend one more perk point on Bullet Ballet itself. It’s part of the base game’s redesigned perk system, introduced with Update 2.0, so you don’t need Phantom Liberty to use it.
What Does Bullet Ballet Actually Do?
The effect is straightforward: -25% bullet spread while moving. In practice, that means your shot pattern stays tighter while you’re moving in a fight, instead of drifting the way it normally would.
I wouldn’t lump this in with recoil perks. Bullet spread and recoil are two different mechanics, and Bullet Ballet only touches the former. It doesn’t add any damage or Crit Chance or reload speed bonus. The value here is purely about keeping shots on target while you stay mobile.
Which Weapons Work With Bullet Ballet?
The perk only applies to three weapon categories:
- Shotguns: Tighter spread means more of the shot pattern actually lands on target instead of scattering.
- Light Machine Guns: Useful for keeping fire accurate while you reposition in the middle of a fight.
- Heavy Machine Guns: The same compatibility applies, though HMG use tends to be more situational.
Pistols, revolvers, SMGs, assault rifles, precision rifles and sniper rifles all fall outside the perk’s effect, regardless of your Body stat.
Is Bullet Ballet Worth It?
Whether it’s worth a perk point comes down to your build rather than a flat yes or no. It earns its keep in aggressive, mobile shotgun builds, LMG builds that fire while repositioning and any other playstyle built around strafing or dashing through fights instead of holding positions.
It matters less if you mostly fight from a stationary spot, your build skips shotguns, LMGs and HMGs entirely or you’re short on perk points and prioritizing damage or survivability first.
If your build already leans into constant movement with a heavy weapon, Bullet Ballet is a cheap, focused upgrade. Outside of that playstyle, it’s easy to skip.

Did Bullet Ballet Change After Update 2.0?
Bullet Ballet was introduced alongside Update 2.0, which redesigned Cyberpunk 2077’s entire perk system. Since then, its listed effect has stayed the same: -25% bullet spread while moving, with no verified changes in later patches.
Its prerequisite did change, though. Die! Die! Die! originally had a recoil-focused first rank, which was replaced in patch 2.1 with the current +12.5% Crit chance at low Stamina and weapon handling was added to its second rank alongside fire rate.
What Is the Bullet Ballet Mod in Cyberpunk 2077?
Don’t confuse the vanilla Body Perk with Bullet Ballet – Custom Perk Tree for Pistol Play. It’s a mod that shares the same name but has nothing to do with the vanilla perk. It adds a separate 12-perk tree built entirely around handguns and revolvers, inspired by John Woo-style gun-fu action movies.
Its perks reward dodging, dashing, sliding, headshots and aggressive handgun play along with recoil control and time dilation. It uses its own points, earned through handgun and revolver kills rather than V’s normal perk points and it requires the Custom Perk Framework along with RED4ext, redscript and Codeware. Use mods like this at your own risk.
