Cyberpunk 2077 Corpo Lifepath: Choices and Rewards

The Cyberpunk 2077 Corpo Lifepath gives V a comfortable position at Arasaka, then demonstrates how little job security that buys. Being useful to the corporation is not the same as being safe.
Corpo changes your opening and adds background-specific dialogue throughout the game. However, like other lifepaths in Cyberpunk 2077, it does not create a separate corporate storyline. After the introduction, you enter the shared main story with Jackie.

What Is the Corpo Lifepath in Cyberpunk 2077?
Corpo V begins as an Arasaka employee working under Arthur Jenkins, the head of counterintelligence in Night City. That background gives V an insider’s understanding of corporate behavior, which becomes useful in certain conversations.
You also already know Jackie. Instead of meeting your future partner for the first time, you start with an established friendship. Corpo is mainly about perspective. Some exclusive dialogue adds context, while other options offer an alternative way through a situation.
The Corpo-Rat Opening Explained
Your first mission of the Corpo lifepath in Cyberpunk 2077 is The Corpo-Rat. Jenkins wants his superior, Abernathy, removed and recruits V for the operation. He provides information and cash before you head to Lizzie’s Bar to discuss the assignment with Jackie.

Abernathy’s associates interrupt the meeting, bringing V’s corporate career to an abrupt end. Losing your Arasaka position is part of the story, not a consequence of choosing the wrong dialogue. Jackie helps V through the aftermath, and the opening eventually leads into The Rescue. Before leaving Arasaka, you can also speak with a colleague named Frank, who becomes relevant again later.
Cyberpunk 2077 Corpo Lifepath Choices and Consequences
What Should You Tell Jenkins?
Choosing “Defend yourself” encourages Jenkins to act against Abernathy, while “Nothing you can do” points out her stronger position. Neither response changes the direction of the opening. You still receive the assignment, and V eventually loses their Arasaka job. There is no perfect answer that saves your corporate career.
Should You Talk to Frank?
When Frank approaches you at Arasaka, choose “I remember” to continue the conversation rather than “I’m in a rush.” I would explore his optional dialogue before moving on.
Your interaction is taken into account during War Pigs, although skipping the conversation does not prevent the quest from becoming available.

Should You Spare or Fight Frank in War Pigs?
You can try to persuade Frank to start a new life instead of fighting him. Your earlier conversation affects how this confrontation plays out, so a peaceful resolution is not simply a matter of selecting any nonviolent response.
Killing Frank lets you loot Apparition from his body. Sparing him ends the encounter peacefully but does not award the pistol through that loot route. I would make a manual save before the confrontation, especially when deciding between saving an old colleague and adding another Iconic weapon to the collection.
Corpo Dialogue Can Open Another Way In
Corpo dialogue occasionally provides a practical advantage. During Gimme Danger, you can use your background to enter Arasaka Industrial Park by posing as a security inspector. Join Takemura for the optional reconnaissance. Scan the guard standing on the sidewalk to the left of the compound and listen to his phone conversation. Corpo V can then use that information when approaching him.
It is corporate experience doing something useful for once. Just remember that this bluff works for a specific encounter, not every Arasaka checkpoint.

War Pigs: The Corpo-Exclusive Side Job
War Pigs becomes available after completing Transmission and is exclusive to Corpo. The job involves Frank and takes you to Kabuki in Watson. At the marked location, move a dumpster to reach a briefcase. Opening it leads to the confrontation with Frank, where your earlier conversation and current dialogue choices become relevant.
How to Get Apparition
Apparition is an Iconic Tech pistol based on the JKE-X2 Kenshin. To obtain it directly during War Pigs, defeat Frank and loot the weapon from him.

It is not an automatic mission-completion reward, so check his loot before leaving.
Does Corpo Give You Better Stats?
No. Corpo provides neither extra attribute points nor a leveling advantage. It also does not lock you into a particular combat build.
A hacking-focused character fits the background, but that is a role-playing choice rather than a requirement. You can use another fighting style without losing your Corpo dialogue. Build advice should reflect the perk overhaul introduced in Update 2.0. That update also made cyberware the primary source of armor, with clothing becoming mostly cosmetic. An executive suit is a look, not a defensive strategy.

Corpo Lifepath Ending
Corpo does not force V to side with Arasaka. Ending routes depend on later decisions and quest requirements, not your starting background. Arasaka’s route is available to other lifepaths too. For example, getting Panam’s help requires completing her mission arc, not choosing Nomad at character creation. V’s past does not decide their future.
Is Corpo Worth Choosing?
I would choose Corpo for the former-insider perspective and its distinctive conversations, not stronger combat stats. Its practical benefits come from specific quest opportunities.
Expect a mercenary who knows how corporations operate. Do not expect Arasaka to keep paying the salary.
