Task Bar Hero Ban: Why It Happens and How to Solve It

You probably got a Task Bar Hero ban or just want to avoid getting one. Nobody wants to get banned from this lovely game. So, this guide covers all the essential info, from why bans happen to how you can appeal reconsideration.

This game bans cheaters (ban from steam market, you can still play the game). After getting banned, it’s possible to request reconsideration and I recommend doing so.

Why Bans Happen

The developer has permanently restricted Steam Market access for any account caught cheating twice.

As of June 5, 2026, over 4,700 accounts have been hit with market bans, which honestly is a massive number and we are all worried about being among them.

How Does This Banning System Works

As I said, cheating needs to be detected two or more times before you get a permanent penalty. You get one “free” detection. A warning popup will appear, and the game will close itself. If you keep going, the ban is permanent and that’s terrible.

Be careful, the second detection leads to a permanent ban without any prior notice. The popup is your only warning. Don’t ignore it.

After that your Steam Market trading is disabled, and all your items that are currently listed are removed. It’s purely an economic penalty designed to stop cheaters from profiting. Instead of cheating, use a strong TBH build to grow fast and clean.

They Don’t Just Look for Obvious Cheats

The system detects what it calls related programs, basically any third-party software interacting with the game files. This includes actual cheat software, macros, scripts and programs that modify the game. They specifically mention that the detection happens regardless of whether the Steam Market was actually used or in-game values were manipulated.

If you’re confused about what counts as a “related program”, the safest rule is: close everything unnecessary before launching TBH!

How to Avoid Task Bar Hero Ban

Given how sensitive the detection system seems to be, here’s what you need to do to stay safe:

Close All Suspicious Background Programs

Before launching TBH, shut down any macro tools, script runners, auto-clickers, or other automation software.

Don’t Use Any Third-Party Tools

Avoid any program that claims to “auto-farm” or “optimize” TBH for you. If it’s not part of the base game, don’t use it.

Be Careful with Other Games

I’ve seen some reports of bans occurring simply because a player had another game with an anti-cheat system running in the background. This could be a false flag, so it’s worth taking seriously.

What to Do If You’re Banned

If you’ve received a ban and believe it’s a mistake, the developer has set up a specific appeal process.

  1. Gather Your Information: You’ll need your Steam ID and details about your gameplay around the time of the ban.
  2. Visit the Official Appeal Form: There’s a Google Forms page the developer set up specifically for ban appeals. You can access it via the link I embedded.
  1. Explain Your Case Clearly: Keep it short and honest. Mention that you weren’t using any cheat programs. If you had other software running, list it out.
  2. Submit and Wait: The dev team says they will review each case and respond as quickly as possible (in about 14 working days).

What If the Appeal Fails?

The developer maintains that all bans are based on data logs and that there are no mistaken bans. However, many players continue to complain about being banned unfairly, and some suspect the detection system is overly aggressive.

Let’s be honest, these banning systems are not running by a judge or anything. They are just AI and AI makes mistakes a lot!

If your appeal gets rejected again, unfortunately there is not much you can do to change the result.

FAQs

Can I get banned for using an auto-clicker?

Yes. Any third-party program that interacts with TBH, including auto-clickers and macros, can trigger the detection system on your second offense.

Will I lose my entire game if I get banned?

No. You can still play the game normally. The ban only removes your access to the Steam Market. You can’t trade or sell items anymore.

How many warnings do I get?

Just one. The first time you’re caught, a popup appears and the game closes. If you’re caught a second time, it’s a permanent ban with no warning.

Is there any way to appeal a ban?

Yes. Use the official Google Form I’ve provided in the text. The developer reviews each case manually.

Does the developer ever reverse bans?

The developer says all bans are based on data logs and there are no mistaken bans. However, you can still appeal. If rejected, there’s no other official way to get unbanned.

I only cheated once. Am I safe?

You’re safe for now, but your first strike is already recorded. Any second detection, even months later, will trigger a permanent ban.
