Probably Stolen Serpico Guide: Food, Choices & Rewards

Serpico, a cadet in security, is shaken by the corruption in his faction and wants to snitch on them. Giving him up to security will give you 300 credits on day 47 and 600 credits on day 55. But if you want to save him and get more rewards and story, I recommend staying with me a bit longer.

How to Save Serpico in Probably Stolen

If you have stuck around up to now, you probably want to save him at this point. Saving Cadet Serpico is quite easy. Don’t report him until day 55, and feed him between days 48 and 50.

Deliver 2,000 Calories at the Dumping Grounds

On days 48 to 50, you must visit the dumping ground, and before you leave, drop 2000 kcal worth of food on the grid. Serpico will find the food and survive.

Best Food Items to Complete Serpico’s Request

What you need to pay attention to is that you don’t need to drop 2000 food items on the grid for him. You need to drop 2000 kcal, which is written in the description of the items. I’ve gathered a list of the best items to save a life, Serpico.

Food CombinationCaloriesTotal
4 × Instant Ramen4 × 500 kcal2,000 kcal
1 × Raw Meat (Standard) + 1 × Peat1,200 + 800 kcal2,000 kcal
1 × Bei’s Premium Vanilla Icecream + 1 × Instant Ramen1,500 + 500 kcal2,000 kcal

Serpico’s Storyline: Days 40–57

Serpico story starts on day 40, where he introduces himself, and ends by day 57 (if you don’t report him and feed him) with the reputation and gifts you get from the factions.

DayWhat Happens
40Serpico introduces himself as a new Security cadet. Buys treats and food with 100 Credits to make friends with his colleagues
42He reveals his concerns about corruption.
He buys alcohol with 120 Credits
43He says he has reported corrupt officers.
Buys food, beverages and treats with 120 Credits, no alcohol
45A Security officer warns you that Serpico is wanted.
46Serpico says he has been framed. Reporting him will give you 300 credits.
48Georgio delivers a letter from Serpico.
48–50Three-night food-delivery window. 2000 kcal needed.
51The shortage outcome is checked. If left with less than 2000 kcal, Serpico is found dead.
52If he survived, Security announces a higher bounty. Reporting him will earn you 600 credits now.
54Serpico asks who should receive his evidence. You can choose 3 outcomes: the Revolution, the Black Market, or Security (50 rep needed)
55A newspaper report reflects the chosen outcome.
57Serpico’s surviving storyline concludes.

Should You Report Serpico to Security?

I can see players who like the instant gratification of 300 credits, or hold off long enough for the 600 credits, but if you choose to keep him alive and not report him, not only do you get +12 rep with the faction of your choice, but you also get gifts that are at least 600 credits worth. So no, the better choice is to keep him alive and see the full content made for his storyline and get higher prices.

All Serpico Rewards and Outcomes

Regardless of the choice you make regarding the faction to give the info to, you will get a choice of the item you receive as a gift.
The items are: 1- a Storage Bay (Extended) 2- 4 x Module Bay Expansion Kit 3- 2 x Current Converters

Looking at it from a pure credit perspective, the storage bay is the choice to go for. It costs you 800 credits to buy at base, if you can even find it at base price. But you should look at your situation and make a choice based on what you need now.

Why Can’t You Help Serpico?

There are several ways in which you lose the ability to help or even meet Serpico in the game.

Serpico Doesn’t Appear in Endless Mode

If you are playing in endless mode, you won’t find Serpico. He’s a story mode exclusive character.

Food Isn’t Counting or the Deadline Has Passed

If you have failed Serpico’s storyline, it may be because you forgot to drop the food in the grid and kept it in your inventory when you went to the dumping grounds. Or you didn’t make it within the three-day limit between 48 and 50. He will be found dead on 51 if you don’t drop him food.

The Maimed Perk Blocks the Rescue Route

If you have the Maimed perk, consider just reporting him to security and getting the credit cause due to the perk, you can’t visit the dumping grounds at all, and Serpico will be found dead.
