Cyberpunk 2077 Coronation: How to Get King’s Revolver in Clampdown

Cyberpunk 2077 Coronation is King’s signature Tech revolver, added in Update 2.5. You can’t buy it from any vendor. You pick it up during the free Clampdown side quest, from a duffel bag in the prison bathroom. The good news is that you get it before the quest ends, and you don’t need Phantom Liberty. Here’s how to find that bag in Clampdown and pick mods that actually work.

How to Unlock the Clampdown Quest

The requirements are short and easy:

1. Finish the main quest The Heist.

2. Complete any two gigs for Wakako Okada. It doesn’t matter which two. You can find her in Westbrook, Japantown.

Pro-Tip: If you complete all 8 Wakako quests, she will give you her Byakko, which I believe is one of the best, if not the best, katana in the game.

3. Wait for Wakako to text you. The message is called “A Request from King.” Reply to it, then track Clampdown in your journal. That’s the whole unlock.

How to Get Coronation in Cyberpunk 2077

Here is how to get Coronation in Cyberpunk step by step:

Meet King at BuryGer

Fast travel to MLK & Brandon in Arroyo. BuryGer is the diner right next to it. Walk in, follow the marker, and sit at the marked table. King calls you as soon as you sit down.

He wants you to break Miguel out of Night City Prison, which is across the road. A netrunner called Meshuga will help from outside. Accept the job and head over.

Enter Night City Prison

Save manually before you get close. If the nearby gang or a cop spots you outside, the quest can fail on the spot. Don’t fight anyone, don’t climb walls, and don’t provoke the gang. One player found that approaching from the left keeps you clear of the parked patrol car.

Use the intercom at the visitor entrance, follow the guard through the checkpoint, and put your hand on the scanner. V gets arrested here. That’s scripted, not a fail state, so don’t panic.

You wake up in a cell with Wex. Guards drag him away, then Meshuga contacts you.

Escape Your Cell

This is where most players get stuck. The cell door won’t open no matter how many times you press it.

Once Meshuga reaches you, use the security camera near your cell to take control of the prison camera network. Cycle through the feeds until you hit Camera 117: Security Cortex. It shows a door terminal. Select it and use Remote Deactivation, and your cell door unlocks.

It feels a bit obvious once you know it. In the moment, though, I can see why people spend ten minutes staring at that door.

Grab the Duffel Bag

After you unlock the door, follow the objective marker down the hall to the bathroom near the BD cells. The duffel bag is under a bench, next to a pile of yellow clothing. Interact with it.

Coronation and King’s full outfit equips automatically. That’s the glasses, coat, bulletproof vest, pants, and Icon America Dust Devil Utility Boots. Yes, the boots are the only piece without “King’s” in the name.

You have the revolver now, mid-quest. Your own gear stays locked away until you reach the Armory later, so you’ll be in King’s clothes until then.

Coronation Stats and Features

The best part is the charge. A fully charged shot pierces cover, so enemies hiding behind walls aren’t safe.

If you want to take advantage of those wall-piercing shots, Kiroshi Stalker optics can highlight enemies behind cover while you’re aiming a Tech weapon.

Best Mods for Coronation

Disjunctor is the mod to chase. It’s a Tier 5 Tech mod that Miguel sends after Clampdown, so it’s not in the bathroom bag. He messages you about a day later in-game. The package waits near the entrance of your Megabuilding H10 apartment, not always in the stash.

Every charged headshot gives +10% charge speed for 10 seconds, stacking up to five times. Bolt shots also deal 50% more damage. It’s a natural fit for a gun built around charging. The Engineer skill is also worth leveling if you’re building around Tech weapons, since its progression improves their effectiveness.

You can also get Wallpuncher, Equalizer, Disjunctor, and Spinetickler, all Tier 5. Try them all to see which works best.

That’s everything about the Coronation revolver in Cyberpunk 2077. Is this your favorite gun in the new update? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

FAQ

Does Coronation Work With Dual Wield?

No. Update 2.5 added the Double Trouble perk to the Cool tree, but CDPR limits dual wielding to Power pistols and revolvers. Coronation is Tech, so you can’t pair it with a second gun or run two of them.

Why does my Coronation only have two mod slots?

Slots depend on tier. Players report two at Tier 3 and 4, and four at Tier 5. Upgrade it under Crafting > Upgrades.

Does choosing King or Meshuga change what I keep?

No. Both choices come after the bag pickup, so Coronation and the outfit stay yours. King’s choice triggers a prison riot, and Meshuga’s kills prisoners.

Wakako never texted me. What now?

If you don’t receive this message right away, skip a couple of in-game days and move around Night City for a while. That should fix the bug. You can also try to save and reload.
