Shift At Midnight Norbert: What to Do with Him?

Alright so if you’ve been playing Shift at Midnight you’ve probably already met the tiny son of a gun. Small gnome, funny little run, walks up to the counter like he owns the place.

What should you do with him? Don’t kill him the first time, sell the items he wants to buy, that poor Gnome will even pay you. Norbert probably won’t come back to bother you if you let him go the first time. Have you killed him? Wait for consequences.

What Norbert Actually Does

He’s not a doppelganger. He won’t turn into a monster trying to kill you. He’s just pure chaos.

In my own playthrough, I let him live the first time I saw him, he gave me money and left and never came back. But later I saw in other walkthroughs that he can come back in different evil ways. So I restarted the game to kill him this time.

What happened after I killed him? The second time I saw him, that little creature tried to give me some kind of poisoned lemonade. The lemonade didn’t kill me, but if you drink it, it reduces your health and causes some kind of visual change. That’s his form of revenge

How Norbert Appears Later

I’ve seen him appear in two more forms. One time he will come to the store, riding a motorcycle, trying to make chaos. Just shoot him if he does this. Don’t let him do what he wants.

He may also appear in the shape of a girl. The way to identify him is to use the scanner on the body. You’ll see this shorty evil inside the girl. I killed him the time I see him disguised like that and I’m sure this is the best way.

The point is that every time you see him afterward, you can simply shoot him. There are no major game-changing consequences. Anyway, as I recommended earlier, don’t kill him the first time. Maybe he just wants to be a normal customer.

Why People Kill Him Every Time

As I saw in the communities and everywhere, people are just talking about getting rid of Norbert. The first time you see him and scan his ID, it says that the ID is fake and he is not what he pretends to be.

That’s true. He is a mysterious creature in the game. Anyway, based on my own experience and community discussions, letting him go won’t make him come back in monster form or something that tries to kill you. So, take it easy. If you want him to come back for more fun, kill him. If you want a little less chaos, respect the old creature and let him live and leave the first time.
