Lovers’ packages are actually special paired parcels. When you scan them, one package reveals a love heart icon and it requires you to apply the heart (lovers) stamp, find the pairing and ship both together.

Before anything, you should have unlocked this heart puzzle. This happens as part of the game’s natural progression, similar to how cold storage and other special parcel types unlock over time. There’s no fixed time for it to unlock. The time depends on how far you’ve progressed through the backlog.
The first parcel can be identified only with that scanner machine. Under the scanner, it shows a love heart symbol. Put a heart stamp on it and then it’s time to find the pairing.
Pairing and Shipping
This is a matching partner package (apparently, there’s no one-sided love in this cat mail world). Ship both packages together on the same boat trip.
A tip I learned: Stack the two packages on top of each other on the shelf or in the boat so you don’t separate them accidentally. If they are sent separately, they’ll return later.
Nighttime Machine Tip (for linking)
After the captain leaves (night phase), it’s time to use that Nighttime Machine. Place the one you identified a heart symbol on it.
Activate the machine (push 1) and follow the lights to the matching package. The lights will highlight the partner package. After finding the partner, ship them together.
One more thing: the matching partner can be any parcel you already have (like one buried at the bottom of a stack in cold storage or a back shelf). Try to keep your parcels accessible rather than deeply stacked, since you won’t know easily which one is the pair until the machine finds it.

This achievement unlocks when you correctly identify and process a lovers’ parcel. It can be missed if you overlook the pairing, so keep an eye out once lovers’ mail starts appearing.
