Palworld Plot Summary: Who Are Zenara and Astralym?
Long before the events of the game, Zenara the professor and her little dragon, Astralym, did something unspeakable that caused a massive catastrophe and destroyed a highly advanced ancient civilization. With this setting, the game lives up to its fantasy world.
Our researcher, Zenara, became one because she wanted humans and all sentient beings to live together in peace. As Zenara was raising her little pet in a laboratory, she somehow fell for the dragon. Hold your horses, though, because that bond obviously led to disaster, because Astralym wanted to create a world where only the two of them could exist. Not literally, of course, but even then, how crazy is that?
If you want to dive further into the story, you can find diaries and notes throughout the journey, such as Zenara’s entries, which provide personal insight into her bond with Astralym and the events leading to the cataclysm.
Fast forward to later on, a small number of survivors managed to stop the dragon by sealing it away with special Spheres. Those Spheres are now protected by the game’s Tower Bosses.
Now, what you should do is simple enough. Collect every Sphere to finally reach the giant World Tree and stop Astralym from draining its life force. Once you’ve gathered all of them, it’s time to accept the helping hand of Panthalus, which is a sky whale.
After all is said and done, when you get inside the World Tree, you’ll meet the tree guardians who can give you side quests.
Only maybe then will you realize how important Mythical Wood and Pal Oxide materials are to them. Anyway, you’ll soon understand and see that they aren’t quite human like you are because of the fact that they’ve spent thousands of years waiting for someone strong enough to put an end to the misery of the ancient cataclysm. It wouldn’t be a piece of cake to reach the tree’s core, of course.
Palworld Ending Explained
After the final battle with Zenara & Astralym, the game ends with a surprisingly heartwarming cutscene. Your character wakes up on a beach.
They’re surrounded by the same Pals you brought into the last fight. I’ll admit, I think I speak for a lot of you when I say I think the ending itself felt a little abrupt. There weren’t more reactions from other characters or cooler rewards than I thought there were going to be.
Will Palworld Continue After Version 1.0?
With Version 1.0 now released, plenty of you may have wondered if this marks the end of Palworld. Fortunately, I don’t ever think that’s going to be the case. The ending screen even says that your tale has come to an end for now. Like many other sandbox games, Version 1.0 is simply the foundation for what’s ahead, and I believe we should expect more updates and additional content in the future.
