Ty Lee in Avatar Legends is confirmed as part of the Year 1 Pass alongside Bolin, Lin Beifong, Uncle Iroh and one community-voted character (She has not released yet).
According to the EVO 2026 trailer and panel, the planned DLC order is Bolin first, followed by Ty Lee, then Lin Beifong, Iroh, and the voted fifth character. No individual release dates have been announced. A free character (Tagah) is also planned for Fall 2026.
I’ve been a huge Avatar fan since the original series, and the base game already delivers strong hand-drawn animation, rollback netcode, cross-play, and a deep Flow system. Ty Lee is still my most anticipated addition.

Why Ty Lee is My Most Anticipated DLC
She’s part of the Year 1 Pass with Bolin, Lin Beifong, Uncle Iroh and a fifth character still being decided by Deluxe owners (candidates: Tenzin, Kuvira, Amon, King Bumi, Asami Sato).
As a non-bender, she should bring a unique feel to the roster. Developers at the EVO panel described her as a hardcore rushdown character with erratic, acrobatic movement and a strong emphasis on chi blocking. Expect high mobility, flips, dashes and pressure-point tools that disrupt opponents’ Flow or temporarily hinder bending. Exactly the disruptive style she showed in the series.
How I Plan to Play Her
The moment she drops, she becomes my main. Until then, I’m preparing by:
- Labbing Sokka (the launch non-bender) for mobility and pressure ideas
- Mastering the universal Flow system and support-character selection (every fighter gets three supports that change their kit)
- Practicing mix-ups and resource management
Once she’s available I plan to focus on her chi-blocking tools to disrupt benders, her acrobatic movement for mix-ups and any unique support options they give her.
Ty Lee’s Possible Drawbacks
Of course, nothing’s perfect. Since she doesn’t bend, she might have lower damage output or struggle against zoners who keep her out. Chi-blocking could have cooldowns or meter costs, so if you miss your pressure, you might get punished hard.
She’ll probably be super execution heavy too. Those acrobatic combos look stylish but might be tough to pull off consistently online. Still, I think her mobility will make up for a lot.

If you don’t remember her well, read this brief story of Ty Lee to understand why fans are hype for her.
Ty Lee was this super cheerful, energetic, beautiful girl from the Fire Nation. She went to the Royal Fire Academy with Azula and Mai, and for a while she was part of Azula’s crew. She used her incredible acrobatics and chi-blocking to take down powerful benders like Katara and even whole groups of earthbenders.
Later she had that redemption arc, joined the Kyoshi Warriors, and showed she’s way more than just Azula’s sidekick. Her happy-go-lucky personality mixed with deadly skills always made her one of my favorites.
Final Thoughts
I’m definitely grabbing the Year 1 Pass, probably through the Deluxe Edition for the extras and beta access. You can buy the standard version of the game for 29.99 and the Deluxe edition for 49.99 dollars.
This game already looks amazing with rollback netcode and fluid animations, and Ty Lee in Avatar Legends is going to make it even better.
