Gothic Remake Overachiever Achievement Guide

The Overachiever achievement/trophy in Gothic Remake requires you to unlock all 46 skills in the game during a single playthrough. Because of the massive amount experience points (XP) and Learning Points (LP) required, this is a pretty huge grind.

Gothic Remake: Overachiever Trophy Unlock
First things first, play on Novice difficulty. This is essential if you want any realistic chance of reaching the necessary level-ups. On Novice, the easiest setting, you level up much faster than on higher difficulties and enemies feel far more manageable.
You even start with the 1-Handed Trained skill at no cost, which saves you a precious 10 Learning Points. That small relief is honestly a welcome start to this long journey.

Whatever you do, resist the temptation to spend any Learning Points on base attributes like Strength or Mana. Every single point must be reserved strictly for purchasing skills. And needless to say, you have to complete everything on one single save file.
There’s no room for reloading older saves to experiment with different skills. The achievement tracker simply won’t register it, which can be incredibly frustrating after hours of effort.
Fastest Way to Level Up for the Overachiever Trophy
In Chapter 1, prepare for a serious commitment: you need to completely clear the map. This means you should take down almost every monster and unnamed NPC while finishing every available quest before joining any camp.
It’s also critical to clear the Free Mine and Old Mine entirely before the story progresses and those areas collapse or change. It’s tedious work, but pushing through it feels incredibly satisfying when you see your progress.
For the optimal path, begin with the Old Camp. It offers the most experience points and allows you to become a Warder and a Fire Mage, while still leaving room for the Water Mage quests later.
In Chapter 6, take advantage of the summon exploit by knocking out Xardas to obtain 20 Summon Demon scrolls. Each summoned demon you defeat grants 500 XP, for a total of 10,000 XP. Summoned Golems also yield 500 XP each.
Best Early Weapons and Max Strength Without Stat Upgrades
Since you can’t spend LP on your stats, if you want to survive, you must rely entirely on smart use of equipment and permanent items.
In Chapter 1, you can easily reach over 40 Strength:
- Ring of Strength (+7 Strength, located in Arto’s chest, Old Camp)
- Amulet of Power (+10 Strength, located in a chest inside the Monastery Ruins or available to purchase from Cronos in the New Camp)
- The Innos’ Grace amulet (+5 Strength, located behind the Tindra wolves waterfall, where the Frost Shadowbeast is) plus permanent stat potions.
- The Horatio quest also gives you +5 Strength plus.
Grab Silas’ Axe early (located behind the counter on the first floor of the tavern in the New Camp) because that’s a must. Knock out Cor Kalom for his powerful 70-damage weapon and eventually equip Scar’s Sword (85 base damage, 70 Strength requirement).
The Royal Armor from the mountain fort and the Ancient Ore Armor (located in Gomez’s chest) are vital for defense. These help you push forward when things get tough.
Effective Combat Strategies for Large Enemies
Combat requires persistence. Large enemies like Shadowbeasts can be stun-locked with aggressive attacks, which feels empowering once you master it. Blunt weapons such as Orun’s Club or Namib’s Club make quick work of Stone Golems.

For Fire and Ice Golems, stand in a doorway where they can’t reach you and continuously shoot them with Ice Bolt or Fire Bolt spells.
PS5 Overachiever Trophy Bug: Why It Requires 49 Skills
On PS5, the game unfortunately requires 49 skills for the Overachiever trophy, even though only 46 skills exist. This is a confirmed bug acknowledged by the developers. The Ulu-Mulu hunting skills were merged into one, but the requirement was never updated.
As a result, the trophy remains impossible to earn on PS5 for now. Keep a save file ready at 45 or 46 skills so you can claim your hard-earned reward the moment the patch arrives.
