Toxic Commando Weapon Prestige Guide

Weapon prestige in the newly released John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando gives you some awesome cosmetics, but there’s a drawback here. It resets your weapon’s progress in exchange and it doesn’t give you any buffs or stats. Now let’s see how the entire prestige system works in this game.

What Does Prestige Do in Toxic Commando?
When you prestige a weapon in Toxic Commando, your weapon’s progress is reset. What you get in return is a new camo for your weapon. Though, that means you’ll lose your weapon attachments and tier upgrades. You then have to start leveling it up from scratch. Attachments must be unlocked and purchased again.

For all intents and purposes, know that prestiging a weapon does not give you any extra stats or buffs at all. These skins are purely cosmetic and serve no other purpose. You can apply these cosmetics to different parts of the gun.
One thing to note here is that prestiging your weapons can get super duper expensive if you buy a lot of attachments first then prestige it.

The best strategy to avoid spending your valuable Sludgeite (the in-game currency) aimlessly is to level up your weapon to max. As you’re doing so, buy only attachments that are necessary for your gun. You can now prestige it. If you’re not sure which weapon to invest all that Sludgite into, feel free to take a look at our Toxic Commando Best Weapons guide.
Prestige 3 is the current maximum level for each gun. When you’re done grinding, now, without worry, you can buy attachments and tier upgrades for it.
Is Toxic Commando Prestige Weapon Worth It?
You might be wondering if the weapon prestige is really worth it at all. I’d honestly say, at the end of the day, that comes down to what you really want to achieve in the game. If you like cosmetics and want to complete your weapon progression, then I’d say go for it. If you don’t want the hassle and don’t want to keep upgrading your weapon from scratch, then it’s really not worth it. You can focus on gameplay and enjoy your time.
