SpiritVale Wizard Build: Dominate as a Glass Cannon Elementalist

SpiritVale’s Wizard (the advanced job from Mage) is pure elemental chaos in staff form. I’ve been blasting through hordes with it since Early Access dropped and let me tell you something: It’s one of the most fun farmers in the game right now, but it will punish you hard if you build it wrong.

Here’s a practical guide based on confirmed mechanics from the current build. I beg you read what I’ve written, it may really help!

What Even is the Wizard?

The Wizard is SpiritVale’s master of elemental devastation. It evolves from the base Mage at Job Level 50 and specializes in massive AoE bursts and precise ranged spellcasting.

It’s one of the fastest PvE farmers in Early Access, but extremely fragile. Mage-line classes have among the lowest natural health growth in the game, so positioning and movement matter more here than on almost any other class.

You trade survivability for insane clear speed. Perfect for grinding maps solo or speeding up parties, but you’ll need good positioning and cast speed to stay alive.

This build’s weapon is Staff (main) and sometimes shield for safer farming (I love shields!).

Everybody says it’s best for leveling, farming, and general PvE, and I agree. But note that it’s less ideal for tanky enemies and bosses.

Role: AoE DPS / Farmer

How to Become a Wizard

The first required condition is reaching Job Level 50 as Mage. Then you need to head to Mystic Lake, where you’ll find the Wizard Master. Talk to them to upgrade permanently.

Pro tip: Do this as soon as you hit the requirement. Believe me, the power spike is massive.

Stat Priority (What to Put Points Into)

Respec is free at the Waybinder NPC, so don’t stress too much about experimenting early on. I hate lists, but sometimes they help, and here is one of these times:

  • INT: Your main damage stat. Stack it hard first because this drives your magic damage and mana pool.
  • DEX: Helps with cast time. Push this after INT is in a good place.
  • VIT: Enough to not die in one hit. Don’t neglect it completely.
  • AGI: Dump here later if you want a faster overall feel.

My recommendation: push INT hard first, then DEX, then balance VIT/AGI once you’re comfortable with your survivability. I won’t give you exact numbers here since Early Access balance is still shifting.

Skill Priority

Here are the Wizard’s confirmed core skills. Prioritize these:

SkillIts Effect
ThunderstormArea lightning damage
FirewallPersistent fire damage across an area
Fire PillarConcentrated fire damage burst
HydroAdds water-element damage to your kit
Elemental OverloadMajor elemental damage option
Arcane SigilBuffs your overall magic output (drop this before big pulls)
Elemental ExposureDebuff that increases incoming magic damage on enemies
Free CastLets you move while casting. It’s genuinely essential for a squishy class like this

Leveling Tips for SpiritVale Wizard Build

Early on as Mage, lean on your basic ranged spells and wand attacks. After the Wizard job change, focus on AoE maps and use your area skills to clear groups efficiently. That’s simple.

Dodge/movement tools are your best friend here because Wizards are squishy. This is exactly why Free Cast matters so much. Use training dummies to test your skill combos and get a feel for the overall playstyle before taking it into real content.

Common Pitfalls

Ignoring cast speed/mobility is one of them. Oh, and don’t play chunky because a Wizard that can’t move while casting is a dead Wizard.

Zero VIT is another pitfall. This causes dying to random hits, and that’s too bad. Keep at least a small buffer.

Also note that Single-element builds wont work well. Leaning into just one element is less flexible than mixing elements to cover enemy resistances. You’ll want options depending on what you’re farming.

Endgame Overview

Wizards currently shine in farming and clear speed. Since this is Early Access, skill balance, damage coefficients and even specific skill effects can and likely will change. Treat this build as a strong starting framework, not a permanent formula.

Wizard is incredibly rewarding once you get the hang of it. You’ll be melting maps while others are still running around.

At the end, hope this build guide saves you hours of trial and error! Drop your own tips in the comments. I haven’t mastered everything about the game yet and the community data is limited. So your own unique information will help us a lot.
