Who Is Zora Beckett in Hellraiser Revival?
Zora Beckett is the trader Aidan runs into while he’s trying to save his beloved Sunny from the unholy monsters that are the Cenobites. Zora provides weapon upgrades and crafting recipes and her shops also let you stash anything you’re not carrying at the moment. You first meet her right after climbing a ladder out of the sewers. She keeps showing up every now and then as the story moves forward.

Unlike the Scarlet Church crowd, she doesn’t seem hell-bent on proving herself to the Cenobites. She also claims to know more about what’s happening than Marlowe and his followers. Zora’s oddly calm about all the horror going on around her.
The way she talks just makes her chats with Aidan feel even weirder, especially once she starts digging into what he really wants out of life.
Zora Beckett is one of the more mysterious characters in Hellraiser Revival and her performance is brought to life by Mia Soteriou. You can learn more about the full Hellraiser Revival voice cast and the actors behind each character in our voice actor guide.
Is Zora an Eremite?
Yes. Zora Beckett is an Eremite, not your everyday human shopkeeper. A document next to her second shop spells that out, and if that’s not good enough, she eventually confirms it to Aidan herself.
Eremites have both human and Cenobite origins. They’re like guardians of the supernatural puzzle boxes that allow humans to contact the Cenobites. She describes her own story pretty casually: her mother got involved with a Cenobite and she was the result. Simple as that.

That explains why she can work alongside the Cenobites but not act like the Scarlet Church’s human worshippers. She’s not another cultist who hopes to earn their attention. Simply put, for Zora, it’s all about the boxes.
Zora Beckett’s Connection to Orno Explained
The document near Zora’s second shop also mentions Orno, who is a Cenobite that’s somehow behind the creation of puzzle configurations and their guardians.
To make it simple: Orno used human hosts in the creation of Eremites. Those Eremites eventually receive puzzle boxes to protect and keep in circulation.
It’s a nasty origin story even by Hellraiser standards. However, I could find anything that shows Zora’s individual childhood or how she became a guardian.
Why Does Zora Help Aidan?
This is one of the few mysteries around Zora that she herself answers straight-up. When Aidan pushes her for an explanation, she tells him she’s the guardian of the Genesis Configuration. Zora explains that she works with the Cenobites, not for them.
Her job is to keep the box circulating to make sure it’s doing what it’s meant to do. And that’s not all. She also admits that the Genesis Configuration was created for the Rite of Rebirth long before she was born, but the Cenobites haven’t shared every detail of the ritual with her. And now that the ritual is already in motion, she sees herself as being there to help it along.

She also lays out why the Cenobites need people in the middle. What she basically says is that the Cenobites can’t just do as they please in the human world. They can only interact with humans in this world when someone solves a configuration. She figures they picked Aidan because they knew he’d go after Sunny and end up opening the box himself.
So Zora isn’t doing all this out of the goodness of her heart. By assisting Aidan, she’s also keeping the Cenobites’ ritual on track.
That said, she isn’t completely cold about it. Zora challenges Aidan’s feelings for Sunny. She compares his attachment to Sunny with his dependence on drugs and alcohol. She says love and need aren’t necessarily the same thing. She even tells Aidan that people like him and Sunny are the ones who wind up in the Labyrinth.

Eventually, Aidan admits that he might not love Sunny the way he should, even though he still wants her.
During their talk, she asks what he’s going to do once everything’s over and sort of pushes him to chase something he actually wants. The game doesn’t tell us whether that’s real concern or she wants to influence Aidan in a way.
Did Zora Give Sunny the Genesis Configuration? The Theory Explained
Now we’re getting into interpretation territory here. When we piece together everything, you might suspect that Zora took the box from the cult and arranged for Sunny to receive it, then helped Aidan complete the ritual. Think about it.
Zora admits that her job is to make sure the box keeps circulating, but when she talks with Aidan, she never tells him who physically delivered the box to Sunny. Considering all the facts, this is pretty plausible, but surely this is not a confirmed fact.
What Happens to Zora at the End?
Hellraiser Revival never reveals what happens to Zora Beckett after the ritual. We don’t see her die or learn what she plans to do next, so her fate remains a mystery.
In the last interaction that Aidan and Zora have, she asks Aidan what he’s planning to do with his life once everything’s finished. When he admits he usually just goes with the flow, she pushes him to chase after something he actually wants.
