Dead as Disco Bonsai Tree Location & Arora Quest Guide

The Dead as Disco Bonsai Tree is an important item (like Pocket Reactor) if you want to reunite the band and move forward with Arora’s storyline. It serves as both a memory trigger and a collectible piece of furniture. It is also essential for decorating The Encore and uncovering the truth behind the events from ten years ago. If you cannot find this rare plant, this Dead as Disco Bonsai Tree guide covers the exact requirements and location details.

There are more collectibles in Dead as Disco. Check out our Dead as Disco Guide to find them all.

Dead as Disco Bonsai Tree: Where to Find it

The Bonsai Tree is not located in Arora’s stage, The Abyss, despite what many players expect. Instead, you can find it inside Prophet’s story level. First, head to the Office arena, which serves as the third stage in Prophet’s level.

Bonsai Tree Exact Location

Check the front-left corner of the room beside Prophet’s desk and close to a larger plant. Like most collectibles in Dead as Disco, the Bonsai Tree flashes with an orange outline every few seconds, which helps it stand out among the office’s purple scenery.

How to Unlock the Bonsai Tree Spawn

The tree does not automatically appear when you reach the office. You must complete several story steps first:

  • Defeat Arora: Finish Arora’s boss fight, rescue her and return her to The Encore.
  • Finish Her Dialogue: Visit the bar and speak with Arora until her dialogue starts to repeat. The memory-trigger quest activates after she talks about the importance of the Tree, which she originally gifted to Prophet.
  • Follow the Story Order: Most players recommend finishing Hemlock’s objectives first, including the Power Juice Ad, Spray Cans and Double Trouble challenge.

Why the Bonsai Tree Matters

The Bonsai Tree plays two important roles in Dead as Disco:

Story Progression: The item helps Arora reconnect after her separation from Harmony’s network, which pushes the main story forward.

Customization: After you collect it, the Bonsai Tree becomes Chair Furniture memorabilia that you can place inside The Encore to personalize your lobby.

Quick Tips for the Office Fight

Several players claim that picking up the Tree during combat can become frustrating. Based on my experience, try to take down the large enforcer or nearby bouncers before you interact with the collectible in the corner. This will help you win the fight more easily than expected.

Unfortunately, the camera sometimes locks onto enemies for me and hides the desk area. If that happens, move Charlie toward the left boundary wall to improve your view of the corner.

Follow these steps and you will secure one of the game’s key collectibles while moving closer to completing the Dead as Disco early access storyline.
