Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Dilettante Trophy Guide

The Dilettante trophy/achievement in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is hands down the most frustrating and tedious grind in the entire game. To unlock it, you must fill every single art and equipment display slot inside the Great Inagua manor.

If you play normally, it’ll take hours of mindless waiting. However, I’m here to cut it short so you can save time and find every single item needed for the achievement. Let’s unlock this elusive bad boy.

How to Unlock the Dilettante Trophy/Achievement

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s Dilettante is a silver trophy on PlayStation and an achievement on Xbox. It asks you to fill all art collection and equipment slots in the Great Inagua manor, which is no small feat. If you don’t do it right, it’s going to take a lot longer than it needs to, which I’m sure is something you don’t want. Worry not, because I’ve got you covered.

Important tip: Just hang everything right where it’s supposed to go in the Great Inagua manor. Make sure there aren’t any empty spots left where you could interact or place something. If you do spot one of those, it just means there’s still work to do.

How to Farm All Art Pieces

First things first, you need to collect 41 art pieces. This is going to be incredibly time-consuming because 19 unique pieces are locked behind Kenway’s Fleet. Six of the art pieces come from any general store and two are unlocked from local events. The remaining 14 are found in open-world chests.

Kenway’s Fleet Exploit: Get All 19 Fleet Art Pieces Fast

It goes without saying as soon as you unlock the fleet, you should start using it. You need to send the ships on piracy missions, those that have a skull icon. The higher the risk level, the better your chances are here. Pay attention to the rewards. It should give you some art piece.

You should capture all forts to unlock every region and add five three-star brigs to your fleet for maximum health.

Because the art drops are completely random, you can use a neat trick to get the missions you want. Whenever your fleet returns, make a manual save before checking the reports. Claim your rewards and check the new piracy missions for art pieces. If you don’t see what you need, reload your last manual save. Simple as that. Keep doing this until you get the specific mission you’re looking for.

The cherry on top is you can also accept the missions one at a time while doing this trick to get faster results. When you send the boys on these long unspeakable missions, you can gather the remaining art pieces:

The Remaining Art Pieces

You can acquire the following six art pieces from any general store in the game:

  • Seated Zemi Figure
  • Pectoral Disk
  • Jar with Ritual Scene
  • Bat-Nosed Figurine
  • Eagle Figurine
  • Taino Bust

Unlock these two from local events:

  • Deity Figurine from the Black Market Shopping local event in Nassau (599,757)
  • Turkish Copper Field Flask from the A Moment of Freedom local event in Nassau (593,767)

Talk to the NPCs and do what they ask to get them.

Where to Find All Portraits

The next step is Portraits. There are 11 of them that you should collect. To make your life much easier, here’s how to collect every single one of them.

For y’all trophy hunters out there, finding all the portraits unlocks The Memory of My Enemy trophy/achievement. So there’s also that.

All Painting Locations

It happened to me too. DO NOT confuse portraits with paintings. EVER. They are two completely different things in the game. There are 12 paintings that you can collect. Though, you only need to gather nine paintings to hang around the manor. You can loot nine of them by raiding the nine warehouses spread across the different regions.

If you’re willing to spend some cash, three more paintings can be bought for 2,000 Reales each from a secret general store at 550,638 coordinates. If you decide to buy them, you should know that these are not your everyday stolen paintings.

You can find them in the Strange Paintings section of the Codex. It’s 100% up to you, though I highly recommend buying the three paintings from the secret store if you have the cash and raiding any six of those warehouses. If not, just raid all nine warehouses to finish the set. Once taken care of, hang them around the manor.

How to Get All Ship Models

Here come the 20 ship models you need to gather. You unlock five of them through the story:

  • Jackdaw (your own ship)
  • Nosso Senhor da Compreensao
  • The Revenge
  • The El Dorado
  • Queen Anne’s Revenge

You can get another unique model, the HMS Ipswich, by completing the eight-part A World Without Gold side questline. This becomes available in Great Inagua right after you finish the third mission of Sequence 11.

You can collect ten more models by destroying standard enemy vessels throughout the ocean. You need to sink both the Spanish and English versions of five different ship classes to get them all. The tiny unboardable Cutters and the Schooners roam the easy northern waters around Dry Tortuga and Gibara.

Brigs appear in medium-difficulty zones like Cruz. To find the massive Frigates and Man o’ Wars, you must sail into the difficult southern regions of Serannilla and Chinchorro. This covers your 10 ship models.

You get the final four display pieces when you defeat the legendary ships. Sink El Impoluto, HMS Prince, La Dama Negra, and the Brothers in Arms to finish your entire naval display collection. you’ll unlock the Devil of the Caribbean along the way.

All Sword Locations

There are a lot of swords in the game, no surprise. Though, you only need 18 to showcase them in your lavish manor.

Two of them are given to you on a silver platter in the story. You can buy the other 10 from stores and 2 from the treasure dealer.

Rest assured, they are found in the open world or through the Animus Exchange. To use this exchange, you need to gather keys that are scattered throughout the map.

How to Unlock All Pistols

You need twelve pistols to finish your manor display. Two are unlocked naturally through gameplay. You get the Common Flintlock Pistols automatically as your starting weapon, and Baldwin’s Golden Pistols unlock after you finish Lucy’s third officer quest.

Five more are purchased directly from vendors. The Standard Wheellock Pistols are available at any general store. When you upgrade the Great Inagua shop, it allows you to buy the Pirate Blunderbusses, Spanish Officer Pistols, as well as Golden Flintlock Pistols. Captain Drake’s Flintlocks requires you to visit a secret shop hidden in the northwest Gibara region.

If you build the Great Inagua treasure dealer shop at the docks, you can secure the Peaceful Means pistol. Now you only have three handguns left to find in the open world. Any downloadable content weapons you already own will lower this remaining number even further.

Jason’s journey of countless memorable video game stories began when he was only 8 years old. Most of the time, he would play Mortal Kombat 4 on his PC after school. When night fell, it was time for the original Resident Evil 3 to scare the living daylights out of him. But he wouldn’t trade those good old days for anything. Jason is a minimalist at heart and that translates into his guide writing as well. He likes to break down gameplay mechanics into simpler parts so that the audience can find what they’re looking for in no time.
