Ace Combat 8 Tasha Age, Voice Actress, and Face Model

Tasha Severskaya is an Ensign and Joker Flight No. 3 in Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. She quickly became one of the most popular characters in the series, which naturally brought up a few questions about who’s behind her character and how old she is.

So let’s see how old Tasha might be, who voices her, whether she has a real-life face model, some of her background, and finally why she became such a popular Ace Combat 8 character.

Tasha’s Age in Ace Combat 8

I’d say Tasha is likely in her late teens to around 20, though her exact age hasn’t been officially revealed. Bandai Namco’s official character profile gives her rank and squadron position but doesn’t list an age or birth date either.

There’s also a scene where she appears to be doing algebra, which led some fans to believe she could still be a teenager. But I’d say that’s hardly concrete evidence; the math she’s doing doesn’t really tell us how old she is. So for now, any specific number attached to Tasha’s age should be treated as fan speculation rather than confirmed information.

Who Voices Tasha Severskaya?

Tasha has different English and Japanese voice actresses. Her English voice actress is Emi Lo and Chika Anzai voices Tasha in Japanese. An interesting little detail is that AUTOMATON reported both names after Project Aces released additional information about the character before launch.

That’s a good read. The article states that Tasha is the bubbly Joker Flight wingman who previously flew as Zvezda’s star aerobatic pilot before circumstances aboard the Endurance pulled her into the conflict.

Who Is Tasha’s Face Model in Ace Combat 8?

Tasha doesn’t have a confirmed face model. However, Darbi Roberts is credited as Tasha Severskaya’s performance-capture actor. That means she helped capture Tasha’s physical performance, but it doesn’t necessarily mean Tasha’s face was modeled after her.

I couldn’t independently verify much more about Roberts or find a reliable profile that ties her directly to the role, so I wouldn’t go any further than that for now.

And that’s not all. One possible source of confusion is Lindsey Stirling. Bandai Namco released an official collaboration in which the violinist performs while dressed as Tasha Severskaya, complete with the character’s look and everything.

Then again, Bandai describes Stirling as portraying Tasha for the music video. It doesn’t say that she’s Tasha’s face model. Here’s the full music video:

Tasha Severskaya’s Background

Tasha Severskaya is an Ensign and Joker Flight No. 3. Before the war, she was the star pilot of Zvezda, which was an aerobatic team from Yuktobania. She happened to be aboard the Endurance to shoot publicity footage when the war broke out. Bandai Namco also describes her as “Baxter’s protégé.”

After the war began, she volunteered to stay aboard the Endurance and fight rather than simply returning home.

Kazutoki Kono, the Ace Combat brand director and one of the key figures behind the series, says Tasha went through a lengthy original design process. He said work on her began relatively early and the team kept refining aspects of the character after her story and direction had already been established, which is interesting.

Even Kono apparently didn’t expect Tasha to get that popular. He said he personally favored Kate Evans and was surprised to see Tasha’s worldwide popularity. According to him, the team spent longer finalizing Tasha than any other character and jokingly referred to her internally as their “most expensive character.”

He thought her personality and distinctive way of wearing military clothing happened to fit current trends particularly well. And this is one of the main reasons she became so popular.

Jason’s journey of countless memorable video game stories began when he was only 8 years old. Most of the time, he would play Mortal Kombat 4 on his PC after school. When night fell, it was time for the original Resident Evil 3 to scare the living daylights out of him. But he wouldn’t trade those good old days for anything.
