Corrupted Chests are one of the new Anomaly types Ubisoft added for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s Animus Hub and they’re not always easy to spot. One of the trickiest is tucked away in Havana. This Corrupted Chest (Known also as Havana Corrupted chest) is a quick System Search Anomaly that gives you 700 Data Fragments and is located at 206,583 coordinates.
Anomalies like this one only show up on your map after you have finished Sequence 4: This Old Cove. Therefore, if you have not secured Great Inagua yet, you will not see it there.
How to Seize the AC Black Flag Resynced Corrupted Chest (or Havana Chest)
When you arrive at the location of the AC Black Flag Resynced Corrupted Chest, you will see there’s a search area. This is the game’s System Search Anomaly type. It will not just hand you the chest‘s exact spot on a platter.
Below image shows the search area for Havana Corrupted Chest. Oh, I hate search areas. At the same time, you have got the coordinates and a landmark to work with.
Note: Corrupted Chests are part of the Anomaly system, which resets on a weekly timer. so if you sail out there and do not see it, this particular Anomaly may have already expired and been replaced by a new one elsewhere on the map. I will show the search area on the map in this article so you know exactly what you are looking for.
Follow these steps and you will have it open in a minute or two.
First thing you must do is go to the exact location at 206,583. The Corrupted Chest is marked by a System Search Anomaly icon. Head to where I am in the image below. you should see a house, with a set of stairs out front. That’s your landmark.
Now hold down your Observe/Aim button (L2 on PlayStation, LT on Xbox). Look around the immediate area while in Observe mode.
A glowing green halo will appear, revealing the chest. Hooray, you’re close. Head toward the glowing light.
Now you should see the Corrupted Chest, surrounded by glowing Animus anomaly lines. Open it to claim your 700 Data Fragments.
One thing to check first. Data Fragments only go toward whichever Animus Project you currently have active, so pause and check Animus > Projects (or hold Triangle/Y near the Anomaly marker) before you open it. If you only own Black Flag Resynced, activate Eye in the Dark first. It is the only Project whose full reward track, including the final Dark Animus Corsair Robes outfit, stays inside this game.
