During Chapter 1 of the Gothic Remake, if you agree to help Lefty give water to the workers at the New Camp, it kicks off the Thirsty Farmers side quest. Let’s see how to finish it.

Gothic Remake Thirsty Farmers: Find Lefty and Start the Quest
First things first. Travel to the New Camp, which is located just west of the Old Camp. Once you pass near Lefty in the rice fields, you strike up a conversation. (This is a great time to knock out the Gothic Remake New Fence for Fisk objective, too.)
He then says the farmers are thirsty and he needs someone to fetch them some water. That way you can even make some friends too. Choose the dialogue option: “Sure. Happy to help.”
Then Lefty says that you need to find Ulmar. He will help you to proceed with the side quest.
Ulmar Location in the New Camp: How to Get Water
To find Ulmar, head west from where Lefty is, just like I’ve marked on the map.
Interact with him and choose the dialogue option: “Lefty sent me. I’m here to…” Then choose: “You gonna give me that water or not?”
Once your chit-chat with Ulmar is finally over, he gives you 10 water bottles. Now all you need to do is hand out the water to the farmers. Start from the peasant that’s right in front of Ulmar’s place. Choose the dialogue option: “Lefty sent me. I got some water for you.”
Just run around the vicinity and do this for the remaining water bottles. Find some peasants and give them water. Once you’ve given the tenth peasant the water, the side quest updates.
Report back to Lefty and inform him that you’ve done what he asked. Then he says you should do this on a daily basis, to which you can agree. If you choose the dialogue option: “I’m done handing out your water,” he fights and the quest fails.
However, if you defeat him, you can strike up a conversation again and choose the dialogue option: “Just checking in on you.” This also clears the Thirsty Farmers side quest and rewards you with 300 experience points.
